Japanese launch PS2's needed a memory card with the DVD drivers on it. When the system was brought to America, the drivers were put in the system.

  2. if you want to use Sony's Remote you have to use a memory card tho.

It wasn't worth noting and I said so anyway... about not needing a memory card for Xbox that is. The way I see it, he said something factual and perhaps helpfull because if someone doesn't know if Xbox can't play DVD's w/o an additional unit, they probably don't know that Xbox can save games w/o and additional unit on the flipside. You just said Xboxes library is mostly sucky which is your opinion, it wasn't asked for and not usually very helpfull to anyone.
    o_O

  3. These same people that bash certain consoles you will find almost everytime dont own the system they bash..

They will argue they dont own it because it sux..

I say they say it sux because they dont own it...

This can probally be true for the most part.

Either way constantly bashing a system is

  4. I own a gamecube, and I think that the lineup sucks, save for a couple of interest to me (2 games in 2003, I think).

    Let's start a support group.

I don't think that is true most of the time. I have owned two Xbox's and have played every big release on the system up until Splinter Cell. Don't mistake my disappointment for ignorance.

What makes you think I was talking about you?

    The guilt, its a showing...

Im just messing with you man.

  7. Have the new PS2 DVD drivers fixed all the weird incompatability issues they've had in the past ? I know for sure my friend's PS2 was having trouble with some of his DVDs...

I have an Xbox DVD kit and I must say I don't really like using it that often. The only thing is that I have my Xbox hooked up using component cables ... but it still feels clumsy and awkward using the Xbox player... I don't know why.

Still better than using a controller for your DVD player I suppose. Either way, console built-in DVD playback quality isn't that great to begin with. I'm still disappointed that MS took out progressive scan support last minute on the Xbox.

Does anyone who plays DVDs on Xbox know whether it supports 5.1 ? Or just for games only ?

  8. With doing brief testing between the 2 it seems to me that the XBOX has the better quality of the 2...
