Thread: The Hulk movie thread

  1. The Hulk movie thread

I know it's still a ways off, but the pics are really cool. Here's a movie poster:

    Cool poster!

Any word yet on the villans?

  3. Here's all the info you'll need my friend

  4. My girlfriend's sister works for the marketing company that works with Universal, so she's worked on a lot of the advertising for this movie. I guess ALL advertising is supposed to cover at least HALF of his face, hence the poster with the hand positioning. She said that the CGI doesn't look that good for it, but I still want to see this.

The way the guys at Wizard and Coming Attractions describe the CG, they make it out to be the most impressive thing ever but then again it could have aged with the tech yet still look good. I have high hopes for it though.

  6. Eh, the movie is still a ways off, so hopefully with post production the will clean up the CG. After catching up on The Ultimates comic, I'm excited to see this one.

Here's to hoping they'll stick in the "You would'nt like me when I'm angry," line from the old TV show.

CG is probably the last thing to be finished, so it probably does look bad right now. Thats what I'm hoping, at least.
I remember someone talking about the movie saying they want the cg to have the biggest "holy shit!" effect since Jurassic Park.

  8. Usually the CGI takes bout 2 years. The poster looks good, I hope the movie is action-packed like Spiderman. The villian might be the military or that one big brained, green skin guy. I forgot his name.

  9. I have my doubts about this movie.

Personally, given the lower profile (compared to Xmen 2 and Daredevil) and the reliance on CG, this could turn out as true suckage. The amount of films which have massive hype leading into CG spaz-fests have just been too numerous to overlook. And I have yet to see a CG character in a feature role which worked really well.

I'm also a little dubious of the selection of Ang Lee as the director. I have great respect for him and his work, but his familiarity with the source material would be suspect at best and it could really work against the film and it's built in fanbase.

That being said, I REALLY hope they do well with this one. The Hulk, to me, is a far more interesting franchise with far more potential than the Daredevil movie or a number or rumored superhero franchises in the works. The sheer brutality and strength of the Hulk combined with the potential destruction in massive action scenes is just too attractive.

  10. Neg, if you've yet to accept a cg character, then you havent' seen Gollum in the Two Towers.
Also, in Lee's movie The Ice Storm, the main character likes comics (he compares his family to The Fantastic Four), so maybe Lee has read the comic sometime. However, from what I've read there are some drastic and some flat-out bizarre changes, so I'm not expecting The Hulk movie to be much like the comic.
