Quiet you asexual boy.
Irritation is fine, but there's a point where irritation goes to far. And I'm not blaming everyone in the thread. Just the one wishing for violence against this woman. I find that a little odd reaction for a HOBBY.

No one really means it here, we are just letting off steam. Although I agree with the person who said that it is a damn shame that there are crippled and mentally disabled people out there that deserve a healthy body and mind more than these people.

Dragonmaster Dyne, it won't affect anything. It never has.
E. S. R. B.
Ever hear of it?
It does affect everything. Slow though the process may be, it's still churning. And, eventually, something bad will happen. Something bad always happens.
Besides, we were all letting off steam. I wish no ill will upon anyone, no matter how stupid, however, I believe violent expressions are very poignient in point making. You need to learn how to discern a real, honest to goodness desire from a knee-jerk sentement.
The E. S. R. B is a joke and was voluntarily created by the industry. It's self-regulatory.

Captain Veggie, the problem with the ESRB is that the parents don't read the damn ratings they give out. It's a fine organization in theory, but the execution of their work (the ratings) is flawed unless they are featured more prominently.

I agree...but it was "voluntarily" created by the industry after being brought before several courts and the Senate. It was a "Yes, we hear you and we're doing something about it because we know you're pissed off" kind of thing.Originally posted by Aurora

Do you seriously think the ESRB would have come about had the press/parents/government not made such a stink about it?
The fact of the matter is, that no matter how usless the ESRB actually is, it was created as a reply to the disapproving masses. The louder the masses cry, the more stringent the next ratings board will be.
Again, it effects everything. No matter how slow to start, something will come of this.
And you still need a class in discernment.
Yepper. But that's not why I brought them into this. Aurora said it would affect nothing. The ESRB is in stark contrast to that statement. I brought them into this to show Aurora that his "it'll affect nothing" sentement is extremely, and grossly inacurate.Originally posted by Jeremy

Gotcha. Before the ESRB ratings were done, the only rating system used was the one by Sega, which was pretty effective since the ratings were prominently featured on boxes.

It doesn't effect anything. People years and YEARS ago complained about Dungeons and Dragons. Now we have people killing prostitutes.
People complained about sexuality in Three's Company...now we have South Park.
You're not going to lose your games over some stupid lady, people.
