Thunder Force 5/Ray Crisis

Just curious if the PSX versions of these were any good? Or should I look for the Saturn version of TF5?

PSX Ray Crisis is a different game from the Saturn version.TF5 is done better on the Saturn , if I were you I'd go for it if were at a good price. I hear the psx version is playable though.

I have TF5 for the PSX and it's very playable. However, I do hear that the Saturn version is better. If you have the means, go with the Saturn version.

Ray Crisis? I thought Galactic Attack was the first Layer Section game and the only one on U.S. Saturn.

Ray Crisis is on Playstation only(at home anyway). Galactic Attack (Ray Force) is the only one domesticated on Saturn. I can't remember if Ray Storm came home in the states or not. If so it would have only been on the PSX.

Thunderforce V plays great on the PS1.

RayCrisis is a really sub-par shooter. RayForce is one of the best shooters ever, and RayStorm is still fun, but RayCrisis is just slow, easy, short, and boring.

I have Thunder Force 5 on the US PSX. It looks great and plays great also. Good luck finding it, they only made about 20,000 copies of the US version. Looking at Ebay, I only see one copy of the Saturn Import.
