Thread: Stupid Childhood Gaming Memories

  1. There were Golden Corrals in 1981? Wow.
Oh yeah. And get this...we used the receipt from lunch as the entry form since they were out of the little cards. Possibly the only time I ever won something cool.

As for Combat, I can remember having all of these debates with friends on whether or not the big plane was better than the three small planes. I think the three small ones took the cake, personally.

  2. Oh yeah! Here, I've got some! *some of my fondest memories*

-Asking my next door neighbor if I could watch him play Super Mario World on his SNES, because like, one time out of ten he would let me play. He was such a bully! >.<

-Drawing Mario and Donkey Kong characters on *everything* at school. (the little artist I was....)

-Me and my now ex-boyfriend looking at Nintendo Power in his mom's car, while we went to get vanilla ice cream and fries....

-This guy named Tony Hewitt and I playing Batman Forever on the Genesis.....and Altered Beast for the first time!!!! I rememver Batman being ridiculously hard in certain places, and everytime i'd get to something tough Tony would turn on the Sega =/ stupid big ears....*grumble*

-Playing Doom on my friend's computer. I was sooooo scared. (hey i was a little kid!!!!) Everytime there was a weird groan or something i'd jump!!!

-This one time i was in a pizza parlor, and they had Marvel vs Capcom (this was before I knew what Capcom was, but i've always been a fan of comics...) so I picked Wolverine, and this other fucking huge like, 19 year old picked Juggernaut and Captain America, and I beat his ass!!!! twice!!!!!! ^______________^ I was so happy, the kid kept going like, "Grrrr............DAMN IT! How the heck.......???"

Well, I have plenty plenty more.....but I'll leave you with this.

  3. -Making a handshake that involved the Dragon Punch. Oy!

-At a sleepover my buddy was trying to do the Feil-Long kick (forward+hk) and ended up kicking the SNES across the room. The room went deadly silent. He was was ostracized.

  4. -playing some SF II when I was twelve years old against some army guy. We went back and forth, back and forth, 'til I finally ran out of quarters.. bastard.

-playing various sports games against one of my buddies. whenever I was beating the bastard he'd power the system off...
    "Tick-tock"

  5. How bout hitting pause in Mario Bros when the other player was about to make a jump?

    Commendable....
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

  8. 1. having to listen to my baby siter and her boyfriend make out heavily while i played super mario bros. for the first time.

    2. playing mega man for the first time and making up words with my cousin to the elecman stage music while our older cousins got anoyed and told us to shut up or leave. ('snot our fault they kept dyin')

    3. making out with my then girlfriend between rounds of street fighter alpha 2 on the super nintendo. it was heaven.

  9. I'll never forget this one time my cousin brought Bionic Commando over to my house. After we both had tried for like a year to beat this game he finally made it to the very last boss. He got his ass kicked and threw the controller down in anger, I noticed he had one continue left so I pushed start. He immediately bowled me over screaming "NO! STAY AWAY! YOUR GONNA BEAT IT!!!!!!!" I don't think I've ever seen my cousin happier than the moment he beat Bionic Commando, he almost looked like was gonna cry

  10. i remember

*playing echo the dolphin on sega genises and not getting anywhere. stuck in a stupid cave or something.

*playing sonice the hedgehog 2 and repeatedly dying on level 2. that frustrated the shit out of me and I dont think I would have ever even seen anything past that except that I got in the habit of watching my sister play it.
