Thread: What Games Have You Been ADDICTED To...??

  1. What Games Have You Been ADDICTED To...??

I've been playing games for over 20 years, and feel I have been addicted to two games. By addiction, I mean the need to have that game in my blood stream.
For example, I played Dragon Force for about 8 hours a day until I finshed the game in less than a week, but I would not consider it an addiction.
    Anyway, My two games are:

Street Fighter II- I cut classes so much to play this game in the arcade, I'm amazed I was able to graduate with honors. I'm as frugal a gamer as they come, & I bought a $100 joy stick for the SNES to play SFII Turbo; called in sick to work the day it arrived & played for hours.

Starcraft/Brood War-This game ruled my life for about 6 months, I literally put every minute of free time I had into this game during that six month period. I know, sad but true.

So what games do you feel you were truly addicted to?

Starcraft: I still play every night for hours.

Final Fantasy VII: I played it so much that I got kicked out of college.

Vanguard Bandits: When I play, I play over and over for weeks at a time.

Princess Maker 2: Something about this game... it has caused me to lose an entire day many a time.

  3. Definately Street Fighter II, I used to take the bus after school and on weekends to the mall and play that game at the arcade all the time, I was was a Street Fighter junky... that was until Capcom pretty much sequilled the game to death

  4. Saturday Night Slam Masters owned most of my time in 94.
VF 2 for the Saturn did the same thing in 95.
Dragon Force had me playing marathon sessions just for the hell of it.
The N64 Aki wrestling games have all had me addicted for at least a year. I still play WWF No Mercy on a daily basis, and it's almost two and a half years old.

"I can vouch - there is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, like owning your own Neo Geo. To touch it, to look at it, to feel the kerchunk of a mammoth VHS sized cartridge plugging in. To turn it on and hear the "doodlydoo," and then sit or stand and play with those huge joysticks. To play on your TV or your monitor and just revel in the badass arcade feel of it."

  7. StreetFighter II: Would skip class as a wee lad to play it at the Grocery Cart.

    StarCraft/BroodWar: Until...

    Diablo II/LOD: Until...

WarCraft III: Until...actually, I just got tired of this on it's own. It's generally just not that fun to play with strangers, unless you play all the time. Maybe the expansion will get me back into it.

NetHack/ADOM: If ever I've the urge to load one of these up, it'll probably hook me for a few days or so.

  8. SF2,MK1+2,KI1,River City Ransom,Shadowgate,Maniac Mansion1+2,and as of recent...Super Bishi Bashi Champion(most addicting arcade game ever made).

  9. Dynasty Warriors 2 and 3, I have maxed out all the characters and still come back for more, it somehow feels like wasted time since its not so much about skill. So I have mixed feelings about DW4 cause its so time consuming, that and the limits of the PS2.

SF2 also stole a lot of my time, it was great getting togheter with friends and challenge eachother, all the weekend tournaments. Now I cant get anyone to play fighters with me, especially 2d ones. So I usually just pick one up for some 10min bashing nowadays.

  10. Street Fighter 2
    Counter Strike
    NBA Jam
    TMNT 2 nes
    Gunstar Heroes
    Final Fight
    Shadow Gate
    Nba 2k2
