I love Gauntlet-style games and was considering picking this one up. Has anyone played it?

it is really quite bad.

it is one of those games where you're trapped in your attack animation, so if you ended up not wanting to do that, too bad!

it is not at all balanced to be played single player (so depending on how you intend to go at it, it could present problems.)

also the music and graphics are quite substandard. all-around very very blah game. xicat is marketing it as anime-tacular, but i didn't see a speck of anime in the game. the opening is straight CG, sort of FF-wannabe-ish character designs. the character portrats are based on that.

I saw some video at Gamespot and it looked decent enough. I'm not concerned about the music as the game supposedly supports custom soundtracks. The graphics do look kind of bland though.

I may pick this one up when it hits around $30 but I don't think it's worth more than that.

the gameplay is just not good. seriously, i'd just suggest renting it because you can probably cure yourself of any and all interest in before the time limit runs up.

About time someone got around to asking. I've been seeing the ads in magazines for three weeks and was curious. Gamesopt just did a preview but I didn't notice the release date.
