    Um...

I guess that leaves us at goodbye.

Um..well.. based off that first sentence I was going to pimp Brisco's Pancakes thread..but, I suppose I won't.

Beats the shit outta me. I just write the damn things.

"Void", though, is acctually the begining of the fantasy novel that I'm writing. It sums up part of the lead character's past.

I just wrote this one earlier today.

    Cycle

the perilous darkness breeds a new insight
opening a pathway into the infinite light
but suckers just can't see straight
blinded by the darkness pulled over their own eyes

to take that new way of seeing
and bestowing it in full upon those that are seeking
is to be a shepherd for the lambs
leading the flock to potential reached freely

    so freely dismiss
    the darkness
    the dark kiss
of a lover's lips so pure
    that can open thine eyes
to the darkness inside of you

for you are you and you are of gray
    intermingled darkness and lightness
    destruction and justice
breaking the mold of a norm that is heartless

and my heart was wrapped in barbed wire and chains
with electroshock prods to inflict so much pain
    locked away
    thrown astray
    but found again one day
reopened with a key made of glorious gray

and when it was opened light and darkness did pour
out from the chambers of blood, illuminating the door
to the pathway that I must traverse
so that my life I may transverse
    and undo this cruel curse
    to be who is me
    physically
    mentally
    spiritually

I complete the cycle and find my own bliss
break off the manacles and give of my own dark kiss

*looks at CD collection.* 311, Incubus, Beastie Boys, Shootyz Groove, Deftones, RatM....

*looks at self in mirror* Brown hair, tan skin, kakhi pants, Bullhead sweater, Globe shoes, non-painted fingernails.

*double-checks mood* Nope, not depressed or heart-broken.

Yea, I'm as goth as they get.
"Cuz I flow and rock the hardest of the crowds.
A marvel pow, how you like me now.
I've returned, the kiss of death, the last Damien.
From the abyss, so fresh, Eternal Alien."

  3. Process

The blooms sway in the metal grey-
    a machine for the botany,
    where scissors descend and resend
    to snip them into suffering;
    a conduit blows recycled breeze
    that smells stalely moldy,
so to sweeten it they extract
    perfume from the glands
of rodents no one keep as pets-

a liquid screen projects its images,
    propaganda and paraquet pandering,
the volume down, the lips to read,
    imagining the message means:

Sit the watch, wait the cock,
guard the flock, wear the frock,
raise the scythe, cut the stalk,
bundle it and go to market…

    Dreams of silo skylines stretching,
the flatfields housed are so depressing,
the Rainswitch hopes there’s not a glitch
or there’ll be no bundles for window dressing-
a button pressed is god in action
the pulleys pull and cogs retract and
open gates to fill up lakes
to soak the soil for propagation
    through zygotic irritation;
a hand removed the job is done-
    praise be to St. Irrigation
    and to holy gene mutation

Push the button, wait the rain,
    depress the button, wait again,
push the button, wait the blades,
    depress the button, wait again,
push the button, rake the grain,
    depress the button, wait again

The liquid screen projects its images,
    propaganda and paraquet pandering,
the volume down the lips to read,
    imagining the message means:

Sit the watch, wait the cock,
guard the flock, wear the frock,
raise the scythe, cut the stalk,
bundle it and go to market…

Put upon a track it’s taken,
    ground it’s bleached and nutriated
and put in capsules for the masses,
    sold in designer color bottles
    labeled as the one quick fix;
the reaper is a button presser-
sworn to uphold the corporate credo,
    ‘Conversion by Subversion,’
    the harvester of salvation;
and plebian pushers smile and sell,
and family dinner is popping a pill

  4. Poems are never so chalangeing as they seem
for once and awhile you learn to let your mind rest
and follow your fingertips on trails
    that your heart mandates
    Let your mind wander freely
    and hit the keys
    one by one
till the poem you are telling with your heart
    is done.

    since this thread surfaced again...
    Sorry for cursing at you.
..clearly I'm overdefensive about people mocking poetry
..and I didn't catch your humorous drift

Well, a respectable post, but it could've been better. I give it a 6.

I am so sorry James Carter. I have failed ye. The truth is I was blown back by the lameness of the thread I guess. "Nerds" was the best thing I could think of.
