  1. Can anyone identify these Mega Drive games?

Kyuukyoku Tiger reminds me of Twin Cobra. Could that be it?

  2. The second one, Psyoblade, is a digital comic akin to Snatcher. Naturally, not released in the U.S.
The other two I cant help you with. Sorry.

  3. Kyuukyoku Tiger is Twin Cobra. It's the sequel to Tiger Heli hence the 'tiger' in the title.

  4. ... and the first link is to XDR , quite possibly one of the worst Mega Drive games I have ever played.

No, really, it sucks beyond belief.

  5. XDR looks kinda like Viewpoint.. not sure though.

Viewpoint, for the record is the biggest rip of R-Type in existance but it's in 3/4 isometic view.

The last is something likely to do with Tiger Heli though I'm not 100% sure.

  6. Okay one at a time:

1.) XDR: X-Dazedly Ray -- It's basically a Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie clone with almost no positive qualities whatsoever. Not worth your time.

2.)Psy-O-Blade: Moving Adventure -- Another bad one. Only this time, you've picked an RPG (and a rather short one at that). In fact, if you had to choose, XDR is the better choice.

3.)Kyuukyou Tiger -- It's the Japanese name for Twin Cobra, and the best game of the three on the list. Unfortunately, that doesn't make it good. At best, it was okay, and I preferred the original Tiger-Heli a lot more.

Nah, Pulstar is surely the biggest R-Type rip-off of all time.

  8. You don't want XDR. For a horizontal scrolling shooter, it's quite bad.

Kyukyoku Tiger is not exactly Twin Cobra. The Japanese arcade version of KT is a 2 player alternating game with checkpoints (like Flying Shark).

TC is the modified version that adds 2 player simultaneous play and removes checkpoints, but it is the same as KT in all other ways. The Genesis US release of TC is really Kyukyoku Tiger (it's got the restarts).

    Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)
