Thread: 24 is the best television show in history...and has been Renewed for a 3rd Season

  1. Hour 21 was great, IMO. The showdown between Palmer and Prescott, with the cabinet acting as jury, was really engaging. ("Next up, the Staton torture video!").
Agreed. For an episode with little violence, the talking and drama was pretty well done and logical.

    Spawn! HAHAHHAHAHAHAH!

  3. I'm going to be very pissed if the last 10 mins is not Jack doing this:

Opens a door, walks in a room, sees Nina there. Sits down, stares at her, holds his gun in his hand and, eventually smiles at her.

  4. 24 (TV): TV Times talked with Kiefer Sutherland about what to expect next season - "We've planned a third season, even from the first day of doing season two. The events of the season finale set up what will be our third season. Sarah [Wynter] is back, but that's all I care to say. The finale is a great rollercoaster ride. Seriously". Sutherland also talked about a possible movie-spinoff - "It's a natural progression, yes. It's usually the other way around - TV Series become movies - but in this case we think we've created something that's far more entertaining each week, and much better written, than some of the movies out there. If we can take this great weekly series and turn it into a two-hour cinematic movie, why not. I know everyone is looking forward to that happening. We've got a big "Die Hard" style spectacle planned in the back of all our minds. The show itself is big enough in itself, but the movie is sure to bring it on".

  5. So, Keifer will be in the Season 3. I just hope it will be an original storyline, and not a repeat of what happened in the last 2 seasons.

Matt, No comments on the last week episode?

Bastard does drops the chip, which damaged it in the process. For the rest of the episode Jack is trying to transfer the data from the chip to the CTU, has another conversation with Kimster, almost kisses Kate(save romance for Season 3 ), has a good and heartfelt talk with Palmer, and follows the new lead. Lots of things to do in just one hour, especially after being dead a while back
Good resolution. What I would have done. Give me the chip and walk, or I kill you.

Palmer is the main character of this episode, and his acting was top notch. Cabinet conspiracy puts him on trial, claiming that he is not fit to lead the country at this time, and the scenes of witness interrogation, lies and betrayals are extremely tense and emotional. Bastards have all the cards to play against poor David, and all he has to show is his Honesty and trust that some of the people in his goverment are still on his side. VP is slimy bastard, first playing Ron Wieland in the way to show Palmer trying to hide the truth and breaking human rights, and then Roger Stanton makes an appearance, and MAN !! the lying bastard !!! They make Palmer look like irrational man, who just hear what HE wants to hear, and unfortunately no one is on Palmer side Palmer talks to Mike Novick, and when Mike tries to lie to David about his part in the conspiracy, David shuts him down. Good scene.
I agree, pretty good acting. It was a great STFU (the "You call me Mr. President"), which is 2nd only to when he talked to the psycho and had the "I didn't sleep with him, if that's what you're thinking" to "I didn't ask" exhange.

It was good to see that not all cabinet members were on the VP side, and some voted for the Palmer. But the news of that chip info was damaged, and all the made up facts and lies, and dirt they threw on Palmer made some of the voters nervous, and made them to vote against Palmer. Now he is out of the office, and VP sworn in to be acting President. How will Palmer get back to the power? Last we see him he is taken to some room, under guard. He is really good character, and the way he held strong against all the pushing, whispering from Mike to give up and submit to the conspirators will, was great. Him and Jack are 2 stones 24 holds on, and they make the show.

I agree. Nina was moreso in Season 1, but those 2 own Season 2. I'm just thinking...what if the chip turns out to be fake? I mean, given the end to Season 1, I expect some kind of twist.

The way he tells Tony that the military action WILL continue, and that smile he has on his face at that time, make me hope Tony or Jack will kick his slimy ass. Also the way he was happy that Bauer "wasted our time", since it gives him another card against Jack.
Totally, he's a bitch. I guess he's on the side of the Conspirators.

Agree on the no-Kim thing, she's just filler this year, and better off alone.

Kate, since like EP6 or so (the one where she goes to the Mosque), I've totally seen her as the new wife. I think it's clear that if Season 3 is 1 year later, she will be Jack Bauer's Wife.

She is signed for a 3rd, incidentally. She's great, I must say, and for an Aussie, does a great US accent (Eric Bana's "Hoot" in Black Hawk Down was the best ever).

Or is it an excuse to make her encounter the evil father and close that plot line. WHy??? We already had ENOUGH of Kim in danger moments this season, so why to stick another one, so close to the season end Oh well, lets just hope it will be done fast enough.
Agree. She's the DBZ of 24. Got 30 mins to fill? Get her kidnapped...or held hostage. Odds that Gary is home, yet the fucking police are too stupid to get him: bet of 1,000 gets you 1 dollar.

Yeah, good ending. I had to tell my bro about it, cause the shithead tunes out when it goes to 4 screens on the 58th minute. I swear, he's retarded, and did it in EP5 or so, when the money shot was a picture of Nina.

The ultimate would be Jack kills her. "Oops...sorry about that Mr. President" "NP, Jack, here take this Congressional Medal of Honor"

    It's Jack, therefore, it's true.

Overall, good ep, probably in the top 3 for acting, behind #1 Mason and his Son's talk and #2 Jack and Nina talk.

For action, like you say, little light, but that's fine.

This final few don't seem as rushed and intense as Season 1, but given the plot differences, that's understandable.

  7. I've only got 11 words about tonight's episode.

Holy fucking shit that was the best episode of 24 ever.
