I believe Jack has Discretion to do things that are above and beyond and outside the law, to do his mission.

It's not absolute, there are things that the President will not let him do, but the Government and CTU are not above torturing or killing a terrorist or criminal to find a bomb that would kill millions.

presidential pardon anyone? The president kinda gave Jack a lot of leeway in finding the bomb (except in the case of killing a terrorist's family). They could probably cover up the fact that the guy is dead (killed in the bomb blast at CTU). You should probably watch the show if this didn't make any sense.

And thats exactly why 24 is soo good. Unexpected things like that CAN happen.

The scene mentioned above was great, and so was the one, when Jack and militia group arrives to hijack the Phone company truck, and one of the technicians gets shot right in plain view of Jack, and he cant do anything about. Usually, the hero would always find the way to protect innocents in situation like that, but not here.

Also, they way Jack captured Sayed Ali(he manualy either tore the tooth with cianyde, or bashed it out with flashligh !), and then they way they played the family execution(still I would have really liked if they actually went with the killing. Not cause I like see children or innocent people get hurt/killed, but because it would have added another level of the drama to the show, and another thing to Jack's doings, and how he would react later on).

Its just the the scope of the plot of Season 2 is way bigger than in original, with first one being more personal to Jack and President, with concentrating on their families, and now its about Nukes, Possible War with other countries and Big goverment conspiracies.

Keep this in mind, the President already offered a Pardon in this season.


To Nina when she was going to tell the information, she got a pardon for the 'murder of Jack Bauer'.

If the President was going to Pardon her for that, I have a hard time thinking that he will not Pardon Jack for doing whatever he has to do to find the bomb.

And what had happened to her? She got wounded and taken away, and they never mentioned her again. Is she going to appear in the remaining episodes, or its just another throw away subplot?

Same goes for the abusive father from first few episodes. He killed his wife, Kim & boyfriend got blaimed for her murder, and now its all out of the picture, like it havent happened.

They'll proably return to the abusive fatehr and the annoying brat somehow. Remember that it's still only one day--A lot of crap happens and a lot of crap doesn't. The nIna episodes were really good--she'll rear her head soon enough. Remember how Drazen's son seemed like he was gonna be cool and kill Jack but then he gets taken out by a chick. Anything can happen.

Well, what would Nina serve in the series right now, beyond vengence for Jack?

Jack looking for the Nuke and trying to kill her at the same time?

I'm sure she'll be back eventually, but all she knew was what she was told on the plane, and that she told to the president and no longer needs to be around.

I'm sure Jack will find her at the end of the show and kill her or something, but, right now, she'd be like Kim's plots are. Unnecessary shite.

I guess you right Matt. But now since the Nuke had exploded, maybe Nina will try to escape, or they will bring her back into the play.
