I remember reading about this at TFP or Shmups a while back.
I also remember 7F saying it wasn't that great.
I'm not trying to shit on the party but it looks like a freewre PC shmup.

epmode- G-Net is a ZN-2 board, like Namco's System 12 (50 MHz, but it uses the G-Card software medium, which look like PCMCIA cards). Press the kicker to eject a card, then just slip the next game into the slot.
JM- RayStorm is FX-1 (System 11).
Night Raid on PS1 does look fairly close to the G-Net one, but the 2 player feature has been axed. Stage 5 also has some pixelation in it, too.
The G-Net should really stick to sprite games at this point. System 12 polygons are showing their age, and Taito should go to PS2 hardware for their new 3D games. At least Battle Gear 3 (a racing game) is using that now. Layer Section 4 on System 246 would be great...
I'm glad to see XII Stag coming out. Here's hoping G-Stream (a shmup with key members of the Raiden Fighters staff having worked on it) makes it to PS2 also.
Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)

I've been playing Cho Ren Sha all week, sounds like a compliment to me.
I actually like the way it looks; hopefully it'll play well. Why are G-net ports suddenly all the rage though?
Well more shmups is always good but right now I'm really on a tight budget so i think I'll just have to skip this one, its not like I would have time for it any way. Sure is a lot of great games coming out this march/april.
Hey:
Shikigami no Shiro (as you can attest to, Cigs) and Psyvariar are nothing short of amazing. I know all about the G-Net slowdown issues but I can't see why this hardware gets so much criticism when Shikigami was developed on it.Originally posted by cigsthecat

XII Stag looks a bit Raideney. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm not knocking Shikigami, as I enjoyed it quite a bit. Hopefully once my Jap PS2 arrives I'll enjoy Psyvariar just as much. But it seems to me that there's a HUGE backlog of PCB shooters that would be better choices. Perhaps someone should get in touch with these people bearing a list.
I have to say though that I'm very happy with the state of the shooter genre and the amount of ports that are hitting home these days. I just wish someone would delve a little deeper into the history.
