Yup, all three versions (PS2, Xbox, GC) of Bloodrayne were $29.99. Fairly cool game, from what I've played of it so far. Despair liked it too, though he has some issues with it.

    It's your type of game.
You mean You get beaten by fish-weilding midgets while riding a bran muffin through a giant intestinal tract? Cooool!

Seriously, though, why do you think it's my kinda game?

    And your opinion of it?

I think Way of the Samurai sold decently. It was marked down as well, BTW. It was $39.99.

At least I'm in good comapny with Dolemite who's a cool guy.
Awww....thanks! Too bad I hate your friggin' guts.

Just kiddin'. You're a pretty okay guy yourself. And I don't think the threads needed to be merged either, but whatever.

  2. Well, I like it If you trust my opion on GunGrave, then go with it
I myself was waiting for lower price, so one day, while checking Ebay, I saw it new for $25, so I grabbed it.

Sure its not very long, and mostly shooting, combo and score oriented, but it doesnt make it less fun to play. I really like the style, and story is pretty cool as well.

BloodRayne would've been much better game, if the control were better implemented, and fighting didnt become very tedious later in the game. Last part of the game, set in Germany is great though.

  3. My Target had X-Men Next Dimention for PS2 for only 14 bucks, which I thought was the perfect price for that one.

  4. In 5 years, I think there will be 1/2 the amount of developers there are today. Costs are going up, and mergers are happening.

Small companies cannot afford to bet the entire company, and take 6-12 months to make that game. The little ones will all fade out.

Treasure will be gone in 5 years.

    Hehe, except that to some, Headhunter cost $60+ ^^;;

I thought it was worthwhile to play through... but it's one of those games I'll likely never touch again. The scenarios are definitely pretty cool, but what I found awkward were the animations which felt really stiff and fake. The bosses are all great though. Worth a rental, but I was a little let down with my $65 investment.

Good point, this is the reason developers like The Neverhood closed their doors. As each new generation of hardware debuts, more and more small-time developers will go out of business. A damn shame.

  7. Here's to hoping MVS's prediction DOESN'T come true. Although I couldn't care less about Treasure now, I do enjoy games by small development studios.

  8. Square and Enix merging, and I would not be surprised if SEGA is merged or bought out by some company soon.

I think it's just going to be too risky to make games, unless you have known games that you can make a sequel to and make a big profit on.

    Sucks.

Hey Dolemite - Headhunter is a cross between Metal Gear and Resident Evil, at least the story is. Stealth is an important part of this game as sneaking around and snapping people's necks with a stealth kill is more effecitve than letting the shit fly and getting into gunfights with numerous enemies. Tossing bullet casings as a distraction is a also a must for passing the Virtual Reality tests. They are not easy but are needed to get better weapons and it also opens open different parts of the city. Your traverse the city on your Motorcycle which is like a game in itself. The control leaves a little to be desired though, but racing thru the city, leaping curbs trying to get to a location to perform a task is a real nail biter.
Boss battles are unique and require a different strategy, and is one of the game's highlights along with the TV anchors who provide funy commentary during key points in the game, and yeah they are real actors, think Robocop. The musical score ia "amazing" movie caliber. The DC one which I am refferning to had some nasy glitches, and lockups which hopefully are corrected in the PS2 port.

It's one of my personal favorite games. The more people that play Headhunter the better.

You can't go wrong for $20. Sound like your type of game?
