To each his own I suppose.

MMBN2 was my favorite game of last year.

    Uhm...yea, thats it.

I actually thought I remembered hearing that EXE3 was going to be released in Japan with dual carts also.

Anybody have any concrete info on it?

  2. check out capcom's japanese website. i didn't see anything indicating that there would be two different versions of the game.

  3. I didn't remember seeing anything thing on the official site either.

    I'd check again...but I'm lazy.

Official Homepage doesn't mention two versions at all. I looked through all the info, and even if you view the 15/30 second commercial spots, it doesn't point to two different versions.

Speaking of the commercials, there's some animated footage... GBA FMV? O.O

Oh, final piece of evidence is Amazon Jp:

Only one listing of the game.

    Maybe clips from the *anime?

    *I haven't seen the commercials*

  6. the comercial is wonderful. you can see it on the japanese capcom site.

  7. I haven't picked up MMBN yet, but I plan on doing so. Should I go straight to 2, or should I go the long route and start with 1?

    Definantly play the first game.

They are both very closely intertwined story wise.

Admittedly you could play the second game first, but you'd be missing out on alot of little backstory stuff, and they have alot of subtle jokes and nods to the first game.

You can finish the first game in less than 15 hours, and you can trade chips from the first game to the sequel.

The same question was asked at their PR event on Wednesday, and the PR woman for the Mega Man games claimed that they had something similar in Japan. The only concrete thing she said on the topic was that you could go to a certain chain of Japanese department stores to download special battle chip(s) or something. Very vague.

In any case, the two unique version thing is almost definitely US-only. And not a terribly good idea, IMO.

    That would make more sense:

Japan - One version. Extra stuff you could download from certain stores.

America - Two versions. Each version has different stuff that was available to download in Japan.

Of course I'd much rather have one version with everything, but I'll reserve judgement until I see how much is different between the two carts.
