Once, playing Thunder Force 2, my friend Willy took a wrong route which lead him to a dead end. He pressed up and right on the pad and let out the single loudest "Goddamn!" (in Spanish) I have ever heard as he headed into the wall. Somehow he flew right through the wall and didn't die.
He pressed pause and looked at the ceiling as if to say "thanks."

Aside from the fist-fights that have almost broken out at these weekly affairs (Wednesday nights, y'all) the one thing that really stuck with me (bad play on words) was the name we gave to Plasmas grenades: "Sticky Bomb!"
Every time someone got tagged with one, the attacker would yell "Sticky bomb!"
On a tangent: does anybody have a friend who starts throwing out words to throw you, or other people, off while playing?
The most recent example occured this summer when my buddy kept throwing this girls name into whatever conversation we had. As a result I lost ALMOST EVERY SINGLE GAME of SF II turbo and NHL xxxx played over those four months. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why.
