Thread: Saturn games that never came stateside...

  1. I would easily say that the 32-bi generation had the most amount of worthy games left behind, and the Saturn, by virtue of its quick death, comprises a good portion of that amount. To this day I can't help but look at the saturn and think of what could have been. Damn shame.

I heard that Konami had a completely translated Policenauts ready for release in America, but got cold feet at the last minute and cancelled it.

I would have defineatly bought it. I loved the Sega CD version and was looking forward to it's sequel. Too bad I can't read Japanese. They should have brought over Castlevania as well. I don't recall any Konami games on the US Saturn.

  6. If Policenauts was completely translated, there MIGHT be a slight chance that a company like Good Deal Games would buy the rights to it and distribute it.

uh, i think that sega of america has *some* culpability there, too.

what about the 32x in and of itself? beyond that, the idea that the saturn would be the "high end" console while mainstream gamers bought the 32x for that generation -- patently ridiculous. moronic.

there are *lots* of reasons why the sega saturn went south. and we have two conflicting opinions on whether sonic x-treme was turning out well or poorly. who really knows?

  9. Sega of both sides are idiots. No wonder every system released after the Genesis is a diaster. If Sega didn't make so many awesome games, I would laugh so hard at their own miscues. But nope, I just lament what could have been...
