Thread: The Simpsons

  1. I don't know. I think alot of the more recent episodes have had many elements of some of the earlier ones.

For one thing, the plots haven't been that outlandish as of late, and they've seemed to take the focus off of Homer's stupid antics and put them onto other, more worth watching, things.
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

    I couldn't agree more.
As I've said earlier in this thread, the human chess board was one of the funniest and most memorable things I've seen on the Simpsons. That and Homer asking Frank Grimes Jr. how old Grimes was doing.

  3. That tennis episode was decent at best.

Just another one of those eps that relies on celebrity guests to bring in the audience and do all the work.
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

  4. The first half of the tennis ep was funny, but it fell apart once the celebs started on it.

  5. Maybe it's just me, but I've noticed that the quality of the voice direction has hit an all-time low. Before, it wasn't only what they said that was funny, but how they said it. For instance:

Homer: "Hello, my name is Mr. Burns. I believe you have a package for me." (full of hyperbole)
Guy: "Okay Mr. Burns, what's you're first name?"
    Homer: "I don't know."

The way Homer said "I don't know," made that scene classic. Not to mention (guy) was superb. He actually sounded like somebody you'd meet off the street.

    Now EVERYTHING sounds forced.

Now that's comedy! The tomacco episode was on last night. That was one of the better ones in a few years.

  7. both Marge and Homer's voies/lines have been terrible recently...

only time I even chuckled during the 300th episode was at the beginning when Marge says it's time for spring cleaning and the dog goes buy wiping the floor with its butt, and then homer does the same...

that was IT... I was sorely dissapointed

  8. I thought episode 301 was very funny though.
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

  9. Why was Family Guy kicked off the air? I syill can't find a good reason why they did that
    What isn't remembered, Never happened

  10. there was no good reason...

I mean, why cancel the show you use to combat Friends, WWF, and Survivor? (Family Guy had the thursday at 8:00 timeslot)
