Thread: Oh no, those neglected game platforms!

  1. On no, those neglected game platforms!

Lately I am in a dry spell despite a nice handful of games to play. I recently was talking to Andy who said he's developed a newfound love for his GBA. Personally I've hardly picked up the damn thing (maybe that will change when the SP model comes around). I got the Gamecube and I've spent quite some time with Evolution Worlds, Bomberman Generation and Mario Sunshine...above it all, I've been playing more of my Xbox than anything. Which of your systems do play the most? And is it because of the games in your collection? Not enough time in the day, or just a phase of boredom you consider yourself going through (that shouldn't be the case, especially with games like Splinter Cell, Panzer Orta, Metroid Prime, to name a few)

  2. Finished Splinter Cell on Xbox.... twice. I love that game.

Haven't opened Buffy The Vampire Slayer yet... Trying to play Onimusha but I don't really like it. Halo, ack, it gives me motion sickness, so I can't even play that.

I guess I should play Steel Battalion, hehe.

  3. Usually it's my Gamecube that gets most of the attention with all the Animal Crossing and Smash Bros. I play. Now Orta has given my X-Box the shot in the arm it needed. I've already played through on every difficulty twice and show no signs of stopping. This is just what my X-Box collection needed.

My PS2 has been ignored ever since I finished Kingdom Hearts. Not even getting Vice City made me pay any much attention to it. Hopefully Devil May Cry 2 will change that.

But in the end, Zelda will bring me back to the cube.

  4. Lately I have been playing PS2 almost exclusively... but it's only because I love Shinobi and I am addicted to it. I have not played a different game in over a week.

I only have 2 PS2 games so far though and I just got the system... I spend most of my time playing GBA and Dreamcast. I bought 17 GBA games in the past year and I have finished most of them. I got some new ones over the holidays that I need to get to now though.... and Dreamcast is just my favourite system ever with gobs of great games I love to play... and I bought a lot of DC games last year which I have not played yet.

So, none of my current platforms are neglected. If I bought an Xbox or Gamecube I would probably end up neglecting them though because there is only a handful of games I want on either system so far.

  6. I try to play as much as I can within the free time I have. The only system I'm not playing so much is the Dreamcast but I occasionally go back qne play them on godly VGA. So far I play all my systems equally, but I would guess my PS2 is getting more playtime followed by the Cube. My head would explode if I had an X-Box which I want pretty bad but due to money being tight these days can't get yet.

I bought so many games this year and last I'll likely never have a dry spell and now with the re-purchases of my lost GBA games, future GBA games, The Getaway, DMC2, Skies of Arcadia Legend, and Zelda it looks like it's not going to stop.

  7. It all depends on what I'm in the mood to play. Here, I'll bore you guys with my current system breakdown (since I have nothing better to do right now):

NES - haven't touched it in nearly a month. The last game I played was Ninja Gaiden II, which I efortlessly (and disappointingly) plowed through.

Turbo Duo - lately, it's been my second-most used system. Blazing Lazers, Ordyne, Star Parodia, and Exile have all entertained me well. The only side-effect... a very, very sore left thumb.

Genesis - out-of-commission for a good three months due to lack of A/V cable. I'm holding out for one of those Genny 2/3 stereo A/Vs on ebay. Hopefully the picture quality will do Gunstar Heroes justice, unlike my last A/V cable... blegh.

SNES - I was playing the first Lufia before Xmas. Then, Animal Crossing and Metroid Prime entered my life. I tried to go back to Lufia after beating Prime (a couple weeks ago), but found myself utterly bored, probably due to its insane random encounter rate.

Saturn - gets the occasional play of Silvergun, about once a week.

PS1 - currently playing through Tenchu (the first). I've usually got a game going on the ol' station. Third-most-used system. It's getting worn out, too. I'm thinking about buying a pre-modded PSone from NCS.

DC - I've only played it once since I finished Grandia II, which was a long time ago. I popped in Ikaruga and had a quick lesson in how much I'm its bitch.

GameCube - the newest addition to the family. Back when I was playing Prime, this thing was on CONSTANTLY. My girlfriend's in between semesters at school, so she would play Animal Crossing all afternoon/evening while I was at work, then I'd come home and kick her off for some Prime time until 3AM. She still plays AC like a fiend, and I play it every other day or so for a couple hours.

GBC - Ah, the ever-useful handheld for those someone's-hogging-the-TV-but-I-want-to-play-something moments. I thought Sword of Hope would be an easy mark-off on my pile of shame. Turns out it's hard as fuck (and pretty boring, too). That's okay, since I'm still having fun with DWIII, almost 2 years after I bought it.

  8. wow. TWICE for Splinter Cell. Man, I need to submit my registration card to the Hall of Shame. Hahah, I play it a few times and haven't been able to go back to it. I got 3 days off from work, so I'll be sure to use that time for some serious gaming! @_@

Will: Will, you clown...I was in NY last week. I should've told you I was coming to slap you around in CVS2 a bit ^_^

When I play, which is not often these days, I play the Xbox.

    MGS2: Substance, and Panzer Dragoon.

Wha? You moved? Anyways, I'm abit rusty since last time I enjoyed playing it, my friend who goes to CTF and lives upstairs from me destroys alot of people including me in that game.

*sigh* More practice some day again.
