Sonic 2, it's just a more enjoyable game for me than Sega CD was.
The Darkest Soul
Well, I havent played Sonic CD, so I cant judge on that, even though it being claimed as Best Sonic game.
From the list I'll go with Sonic 2. It was amazing game, much bigger than original, with more of everything added to the formula.
Original Sonic will be close 2nd. The first game I ever played on my Genesis, and to this date, one of my favorite ones.

Sonic the Hedgehog; the original and best. It was all about speed and making sure you had 50 rings when completing the act. Later Sonic games complicated things too much and were a lot slower. Sonic Adventure was the perfect 3D update for it.

I know, but imho it just adds so much to the game.
Not having to backtrack to get speed for ramps n' such, just sped up the pace of the entire game.
