I think they all have really different feels, actually, except for Knuckles, which is just made of Sonic 3 throwaways.

i haven't played the sonic cd, but my fave 2d sonic would be sonic 2. the look was just so nice and sweet. pluss i have issues with the sprites in sonic 3 and on. they just didn't look as cool to me.
