Daredevil Official Impression thread

Daredevil was one of my favorite Comic book characters so I'm very excited about the Movie version and how the Comic translates to the big screen. Kingpin was a logical choice for the main bad guy, and is well known to some extent.

For those who have read the comics his original outfit looked vastly different and consisted of yellow. I of course think the blazing red outfit looks much sleeker and bad ass.

Actually I preffered DD over Spider Man as my Superhero of choice, and never thought they would make a Movie. He isn't as well known as Spider or Superman, but hopefully this will peak interest in some of the old and new comics.

Will this live up to a Comic fans expectations? Judging from the initial trailers I have high hopes.

I need to find my comic collection again and start reading up on some old DD adventures.

I used to have an original issue of DD number 6, and loved it but the condtion was far from perfect and I opted to sell it.

What's your Favorite DD Comic Storyline?

BTW anyone know of any sneek previews or midnight screenings?

Well, While I'm no comic book fan by any means, I'm looking forward DD. It looks like fun Action flick, with some great action and fight scenes. I've seen DDs look of old, and I think his new costume is better. I dont have a problem with Kingpin being black in the movie as well.

Hopefully it will be better than dreadful Spiderman, and closer in style to Blade films.

For this type of Comic book Movie I have no problem with the PG-13 Rating. As for Blade the R rating was better suited.

I believe sequels are in the works for this assuming this is a big hit, and no doubt it will be.

Dare Devil does indeed rock as a Comic Book character, but this movie looks so stupid. The character look lame, and almost all of the action scenes in the Trailer are carbon copies of the action scenes from the Spider-Man movie! Like when "Dare Devil" is dodging those throwing stars, replace that with spider man and add some fire and you got that crappy scene from the crappy Spider-Man movie.

And it would have been nice if Affleck at least worked out for the movie at least, his face is so fat in the movie. Its just oozing out of that Dominatrix mask that they are trying to pass off as a Dare Devil mask.

Even if DD is using same concepts for its action scenes, they look and executed much better than in Spiderman. Other than mentioned Star Dodge, I dont see anything else simular to Spiderman. I dont remember Spidey fighting with 2 baton, dodging alot of machine gun fire.

I'm torn on this one. I luv Jenny Garner, but I can't help but see Agent Bristow everytime she shows up in the trailers. It's not Elektra, it's Jennifer Garner. Maybe that was intentional, I dunno.

I've never been a DD fan (nor DD hater), so I'll probably wait until this one hits DVD or the Movie channels.

This story is based on Frank Miller's run of the series, which is considered the best DD story ever. Also, the script is supposed to be really good, and the final act of the movie is said to be crushing and dark. I hope thats true, it certainly fits the character. However, the trailers seem too much like the regular super hero crap, and its not rated R which I heard was what they were pulling for, so I got some doubts this will be anything special. One thing I wish would've happened is if Guy Peirce would have took the DD role. He was offered it, but declined. Watch Memento, and tell me that Peirce wouldn't have been perfect as Matt Murdock.
