Thread: Did anyone here play these games?

  1. I click the link, I see the placeholder.
I copy and paste, I get the whacky dots in the url.

Just goes to show you FighterX..you just can't beat city hall

    *quotes, copies and pastes..*

I distinctly remember Little Nemo kicking much ass. The NES one anyway, I assume that is the one you linked.

  3. Journey to Silius was pretty darn impressive 12 years ago. Haven't played it since then, though. Well animated for an NES game, and music I remember to this day. It's a side scroller, kinda like Contra, but with a sci-fi space theme and a weird looking main character.

Operation Wolf was the original novelty light gun game - it had an Uzi that recoiled like a real machine gun, at least in the arcade. I remember the NES translation not being too hot, and the game itself probably doesn't stack up too well against HotD these days.

Like everything made by Ocean, Robocop was total shit. Stay far away.

Roadblasters I remember getting 7/10 reviews in EGM way back when, but when I rented it I played it for a half an hour, gave it to my friend and said "here. Due back Monday. Enjoy." It was totally boring.

Little Nemo I never played, but I remember the layouts in Nintendo Power. The graphics were awesome for an NES game, and it looks like your standard 8-bit Capcom platformer - ie., really good.

Damn, I've got a good memory. I haven't seen/played any of those games since 1989-90.

  4. Yeah, Little Nemo for the NES is a rather underrated platformer. Pretty good stuff. The other four games (on NES, anyway) ain't so hot.

  5. The Atari Lynx version of RoadBlasters was excellent! It was a very impressive conversion of the Atari Games arcade game. It still holds up well today.

Journey to Silius - I liked it. A decent platformer but not among the best NES games.

Robocop - The arcade version was fun.

Little Nemo - Pretty good on NES but the arcade game was one of Capcom's least impressive CPS1 games.

    Roadblasters - Great arcade action.

Operation Wolf - Very nice in the arcades. The Amiga version is impressive although it's missing the gun. The SMS version is good and the NES one is okay.

  7. I rocked the hell out of JTS back in the day, one of the first NES games I bought with my own money.

  8. I think I got Roadblasters for my birthday way back when.

  9. Journey to Silius had one of the best soundtracks ever, especially the first stage one, and I remember the intro having some really stylish artwork, I actually still want a t-shirt with that orange/red picture of him on the chest.

  10. Little Nemo is super cool, and a very strange license to base a game on. I thought maybe it was a tie in with the movie, but according to the IMDB the movie was released in '92. Wouldn't be the first time the IMDB got a date wrong, though. But assuming it's correct what the heck possessed Capcom to make a game based on a turn of the century comic strip totally unfamiliar to the NES kiddies? Capcom are so nutty. I love them. Did they make a lousy licensed NES game other than Mickey Mousecapades?

I just played Journey to Silius for the first time. The music is tops and I dug the opening, though it's a shame that the main character sprite looks like J.D. Roth with a blaster.
