Thread: Review: Ratchet & Clank

  1. Review: Ratchet & Clank

I must say, my first impressions of this game weren't too hot. But that was months before the game actually came out, and from what I hear Sony actually has a winner here.

[blockquote]. . . Ratchet & Clank shows the work of a very experienced developer right from the outset, featuring outstanding graphics and sound, charming personality and character, and most importantly rock-solid gameplay. The game is just utterly polished, and comes off with every element expected of the genre well enough to firmly plant it as a truly premiere title in the genre.[/blockquote]
How can you argue with that?

  2. I thought it was very good game, and one of the best platformers I played in years. Originally I wasnt very interested in it at all, but after giving it a try, me and DJ were hooked on it.

I dont understand why people thought characters in it were bland? I liked R&C and rest of the cast and the story had good dose of humor, especially Captain Quark scenes.

It had soo many things to do, soo many secrets to find, and soo many weapons to use Of Game's 14 worlds each one has its unique flair, and requires you to utilize your skills and gadgets well.

Unlike some other games this didnt turned into boring Scavenger Hunt. Quite opposite it was exciting exploring new locations and looking for secrets, while picking some bolt change.

Even though many people wont agree with me, I thought that R&C was much more entertaining than mighty Sunshine.

    P.S - Good review Andy

  3. Thanks for your comments, Despair. It's great to see more people are using the Headlines board the way it was meant to be used.

I bet we will see you again when our Devil May Cry 2 review is live.

I haven't played the full version of Ratchet & Clank yet, but ever since Maximo came out about a year ago, I have been surprised by PS2 platformers a couple of times. Maybe I'll give this one a go.

How long is the game? Eight hours, twelve, or more?

  4. Well, I think it took us about 20 hours total, with about 8 of which should be contributed to using tricks to get change to buy the most expensive weapon in the game, right before the end.

So I'll say about 12 hours or soo, counting that we found all Golden Bolts, did all Skill Point Challenges and got Golden Weapons.

  5. Thanks. After I finish Shenmue II, I might check it out.

  6. Thanks for the comments Despair, I agree with you on all of your points as well Like Nick said, good to see people using the headlines board like you.
Buy Yakuza and Oblivion. Help yourself, help TNL.
