No shit.
only if you have Xbox liveOriginally posted by Mode7
As well you shouldn't, considering that you can.
it was in the email yesterday morning you HAVE to have xbox live to play the game OFFLINE or online
the game is useless unless you have Xbox live you cant do anything with it
No shit.
Wait, so how does the offline mode work on the Xbox version? Does it first authenticate your account on some server before allowing you to play? Or is it a one off authentication?
I thought they WERE gonna charge for some of the Splinter Cell stuff. I could be wrong, but that's the impression that I got from certain comments. Only games that matter on that list are MotoGP and Mech Assault, anyway.Melf said...
Extra fees:
- PSO
No extra fees:
- Moto GP
- Mech Assault
- Unreal Championship
- Whacked!
- NBA Inside Drive
- NFL Fever
- Toe Jam & Earl downloadable content
- Splinter Cell downloadable content
One game charges and the world collapses?
And yes, the world will soon collapse. One game charging a fee is a problem. It's a beginning; a gateway. Like when Agent Under Fire became the first $29.99 PS2 Greatest Hits game. What we're seeing is the beginning of something that sucks.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not ragging on (who I assume to be your close, personal friend) Microsoft. They just happened to have the best online console strategy, one I thought could work very well. And now they don't. Oh well, maybe next generation.

Well that's creative. Someone says something positive about a company and they're a fanboy.Originally posted by Mzo

Have you ever thought of waiting it out? I bet that many of the people posting in this thread don't even have Live yet and view the PSO situation as a reason not to get it. Had you read any of my posts in their entirety you'd have seen that I'm not in favor of paying to play at all and think the situation sucks. I guess half of a single post is enough for you to make an observation. It's always easier to make accusations.
I prefer to see where Live is headed. Wen my year subscription is over, THEN I'll make my decision as to renew or not, depending on how much it'll cost.
So far as I understand it, if you've got XBL on your 'box, you're good to go. Some fellow on the gamefaqs boards confirmed that he was able to play offline without even having his cable attached, so obviously it's not 'checking in' every time you want to take the offline mode for a spin.Wait, so how does the offline mode work on the Xbox version? Ahh thanks. I'm afraid though that the (racist!) segregation of the servers will push me towards the GC version after allOriginally posted by Mode7

ok, in that case it is not that bad then, though i still have put so much time into the gc version, so i am debating, decision will be sometime soon.
Biggest thing the xbox version has over the gc version is voice chat IMO.
playing challenge mode offline with 3 friends is a lot more fun when you get to talk and give commands.
