Thread: XB PSO Fees...

I'm hoping that that's some sort of mistake. Or it means that "if you're going to play online, you have to have Live when you play offline." But if someone who has no plans of going online has to have Live.. wow, incredibly lame.

I so wish I had broadband access.

  2. Pricing is up to the company that releases the game (for play or exclusive content, yadda yadda). I believe SEGA has made their own Microsoft certified data centers that they run from their own offices, though I am not sure. They choose what to charge, it isn't up to Microsoft.

    Just some clarification.

By the way, i think they are finally making people connect on Live to make sure nobody dupes/cheats/etc. Not saying I agree with the decision, but if you want a no cheating atmosphere, I guess the Xbox version is the place to be.

...as opposed to buying the game and modem, plus the online fees on GC?

Considering that with Live you can actually communicate with other gamers without having to practically pause the game to type, you're better off on Xbox.

  4. indeed, that is very lame. you have to have an online service to plan a game offline.

    what a load of rubbish.

  5. so some one want to explain how the argument "xbox live is better than having to buy an adaptor"

considering an adaptor is cheaper and you still have to pay for online games ontop of the 50 bucks

ohhh ohhh wait i know you get to pay 50 bucks or more every year where as the OTHER people just have to buy the adaptor once

    ahhh i get it now

because you only have to pay that modem or NA price ONCE

You only have to pay for the adapter once, true. Of course, you only have one game with which to use it. Paying $50 for a year's worth of Moto GP, Mech Assault, Ghost Recon, sports titles, Capcom vs. SNK EO, and a slew of other games more than justifies the $50 for me. Why anyone would think that buying an adapter for one game is a better deal than paying $15 more to play a bunch of games online for an entire year is beyond me.

Add the fact that you can't even talk to other GC PSO players at all unless you dish out $75 for an import keyboard and you hardly have a deal.

  7. Why would you have to have Xbox Live in order to play offline? That has to be a mistake. You can play the import version offline without being connected to Xbox Live.

  8. Wiil do Gongos!

I'm hoping that more online games come out for GC. I've been itching to buy the BBA but haven't because of PSO on the 'box. Hopefully, Mario Kart or AC2 will change that (if it's true about them).

It would suck if you couldn't play PSO offline without Live. That would be cheap and piss off a lot of consum...oops, I forgot we were talking about Sega.

cept theres going to be more GC games that are online in the future its not like PSO is the only game to EVER be online on cube

and im buying Xbox live for one game

CvS2EO thats it nothing else on Xbox live interests me in the least

i played regular moto gp didnt like the controls
    dont like mech games
hate ghost recon and those style games

to me the Xbox is the more expensive set up ill be paying 50 bucks a year for CvS2 EO and MvC2 so far

i just dont understand the argument that having to buy an adaptor you pay for ONCE is worse than paying for a subscription every year a more expensive item i might add

what im saying is people are saying PSO is cheaper on Xbox live which its not

Xbox PSO for 3 years at 50 a year for Xbox live comes out to spending 524 bucks on the game

GC PSO with network adaptor included and all comes out to 404 bucks for 3 years

and besides when you buy Xbox live your also buying a headset which is not much different then buying an adaptor

im just tired of this "well least with Xbox live i dont have to buy an adaptor" arguement cause its the lamest fucking t hing ive ever heard
