If you're buying Phantasy Star Online to play it offline, you deserve to pay $50 extra just for being a dumbass.
Anyway, this is fine for me. Playing by far the best version of one of my all time favorite games is more than worth it.
That's just it. so far all we've heard are rumors or games that are a year off. I'm playing Live NOW.Originally posted by Shin Johnpv
cept theres going to be more GC games that are online in the future its not like PSO is the only game to EVER be online on cube
Understandable. You then have the same problem I had when considering PSO on GC.and im buying Xbox live for one game
CvS2EO thats it nothing else on Xbox live interests me in the least
That doesn't detract from the fact there are games for a variety of tastes.i played regular moto gp didnt like the controls
dont like mech games
hate ghost recon and those style games
But you're speaking as though the $50 a year were only for PSO. By that argument, you'd have to then include your monthly internet fee in the price of playing PSO on GC. Do you do that? No, so saying that the $50 adds to the price of PSO is telling only half the story.i just dont understand the argument that having to buy an adaptor you pay for ONCE is worse than paying for a subscription every year a more expensive item i might add
what im saying is people are saying PSO is cheaper on Xbox live which its not
Xbox PSO for 3 years at 50 a year for Xbox live comes out to spending 524 bucks on the game
GC PSO with network adaptor included and all comes out to 404 bucks for 3 years
Except that it's included in the starter kit, which is still cheaper than the keyboard.and besides when you buy Xbox live your also buying a headset which is not much different then buying an adaptor
It depends on taste. If there are enough games you like to justify the purchase of Live, then buy it. Even for just those two games, to play anyone online for a year seems to be worth it. People are paying $10-15 a month to play PC rpgs, so $50 a year isn't that bad.im just tired of this "well least with Xbox live i dont have to buy an adaptor" arguement cause its the lamest fucking t hing ive ever heard

Goddamn SoA.
Just curious, wasn't the deal with Live that you didn't have to pay for games (first year anyway) outside the $50 starter kit? Did this policy change or Sega throw a hissy fit or what? *-neo

in the same sense your also including the adaptor which can be used for more GC games, the point was talking about PSOOriginally posted by Melf

my point here was that you still have to go out and buy expensive hardware to play Xbox onlineOriginally posted by Melf

i dont think it is but sadly i still have to pay thatOriginally posted by Melf

why because im sick and i have to experience all the systems online
and yes its all about tastes
my point was against the argument that states "Xbox live is better because i get to pay 50 bucks a year to use it as opposed to paying 40 bucks once for an online adaptor"
if you play 10 xbox games in 3 years and 5 GC games in 3 years
Xbox live still costs you more
thats my point everyone says some how its a cheaper experience but its not
they said its going to be like Cable tv where you pay a flat fee for basic service and then pay more for premium servicesOriginally posted by neoalphazero

some how a game thats made to be played online when played online is considered a premium service
Why the fuck am I paying 50 bucks for an Xbox Live membership when I'm getting charged per game which was the point of Live in the first place....

Well, the headset comes with the kit, so I don't know how expensive it is if you buy it seperate. However, you don't need it to play online (although it makes it a lot more fun or a lot worse, depending with whom you're playing).my point here was that you still have to go out and buy expensive hardware to play Xbox online
I'm not saying that it's cheaper from an economic standpoint but it does seem more attractive. $50 to play at least 12 titles out now with more coming everyday vs. $25 for a BBA for one game out and every other title either a rumor or at least a year off. Online Nintendo games sound great but we haven't seen anything yet. I'm hoping that will change soon. Online Smash Bros. would be too cool for words.my point was against the argument that states "Xbox live is better because i get to pay 50 bucks a year to use it as opposed to paying 40 bucks once for an online adaptor"

Did you or did you not still buy Phantasy Star Online to play online?Originally posted by Gongos
same for me, thats why i am staying with the cubeseriously, you never played offline on the dc, how long did it take to level up your mag? i play offline to get rares and feed my mag, as well as doing the offline quests, which can net you some interesting rares in its own right(play heart of a blacksmith on ultimate) you willhave to tell em what the lobby is like on a voice only system, i envision a real life application of chaos theory. this is tough for me, since 2 of my best in-person friends were going to go online with this, so i already had a premade team, and it ticks me off, that i have to turn away, but i am not building a guy up again, i played the gc so much already, and have the mag i want(thanks bk) so i aint goign through that again.
PSO Xbox: New fees, same boring repetitive gameplay.
