    Another PC Question

Well my new mobo (havent received it yet, i ordered it, but i was looking at pictures) Doesn't match up with the ports on the back of my case! Its got some extra stuff (dolby digital, extra onboard LAN and usb) in spots where there are no ports! Does this mean I will have to butcher my case or what?

    Edit: heres a picture http://www6.tomshardware.com/mainboa...connectors.jpg

  2. Or buy a new one, most new cases have the ports for sound and whatnot but older ones most likely will not. If getting a case go with antec's very well built cases. Just make sure its extremely well ventulated if you gonna be running it 24/7 and sitting it on carpet. And get a metal case, don't get plastic.

i know, i have a very nice brand new case! Its got all the standard ports and whatnot, but the mobo has non standard ports on it! its a thermaltake Xaser II series if your wondering. So what do I do?

Hmmm, i read a review on the case, and they said you cold pop out the thing! Thats really good but leaves me with a problem, I dont want some big ugly hole in my case!

Anyway, is it possible to buy a new I/O thingy to pop in which would replace the hole i am about to make?

Well... you do have a naked Cammy for your avatar.

  6. Yeah...they give you a cover that will fit in the case, and allow all the ports to be accesable. Make sure you put it on the case before you put the motherboard in.

Anyway my new mobo came and i put the new plate in. Odd thing was that the plate it came with took 5 minutes to takes out, and the new one will hardly stay in
