Gamespy is about as far away from journalism, videogaming or otherwise, as I am to being NFL superstar and all-around nice guy Michael Vick.Originally posted by epmode

Frequency is the shit, and I suspect Amplitude will be more of the same. Hopefully I'll have the cash to get it on day one.
Who gives a damn about the graphics? you shouldn't even be looking at them.
Any of you who really played Frequency knows who RobotKid is (End of Your World) He works for harmonix and posted this at Freq.com
That's cruddy about the electronica artists not taking kindly to average gamers remixing their songs. And a release date has become official, 3/25/03Hi guys,
I've seen some FreQs here go into a panic about some of the new songs in Amplitude. Let me try to ease your concerns.
First of all, YES, we have some new big bands in the game. One of the big issues people raised about the first game was that they didn’t know any of the acts. With Amplitude, we wanted to find some acts that people were comfortable with so they could enjoy our new musical gaming experience. We thought if people could play a few songs they were familiar with, they would have an easier time getting into the game. You have to remember, hardly anyone in the USA has ever played a music game. You FreQs on here are all wayyyy ahead of the rest of the American gamers out there. Most of the gaming public was confused by FreQuency, and thus, they didn’t like it or play it or buy it.
2nd, we still have a HUGE pile of electronica in Amplitude. We have some bands you know, and a pile of bands you have never heard of! Some of your favorites will be back too! We’ll be releasing more names as the weeks go on.
3rd, we tried hard to get some big electronica acts…and they all turned us down. You know why? Because they don’t want YOU remixing their songs. Isn’t that crazy? The people that remix other bands for a living can’t stand the thought of being remixed by others! It bums me out as much as it does you.
Amplitude will be different game than FreQuency. The spirit is still there, but we’ve improved a lot of stuff. We’ve worked really hard to make sure it’s an awesome game that both newcomers and hardcore FreQs can love. All I can ask from you guys at this point is to trust us that we’ll do a good job. The last thing we want to do is disappoint our fans who have been with us from the beginning.
Hope this helps clear things up a little. If you have more questions, please ask me and I’ll do my best to answer. Just remember, I’m trying to get the game done, so let me stay busy and I promise to make Amplitude be the best game it can be.
Thanks for your support!

The main "complaint" that I heard (ranging from people I know that tried it to Funco employees) was that their reflexes couldn't keep up and the game went too fast. I often laughed at that, despite never completing Expert myself. Most of the gaming public was confused by FreQuency, and thus, they didn’t like it or play it or buy it.S'matter? Afraid someone can do their songs better? (Pokes aside, that sucks balls.)3rd, we tried hard to get some big electronica acts…and they all turned us down. You know why? The only complaint I had with Frequency, and Ste-Von saw it too last night. After I play for a while, it does something to my sight. Everything seems floaty and wavy. Kinda like one of those spiral spinning tops that you stare at for 30 seconds and the entire room moves.
