Yeah its definitely one of the better games of 2003, if you guys don't have the game yet now's a good time to pick it up if you're not beating your other games and want a game to play before the end of August stuff.Originally Posted by Green
This game seems natorious for being so short, yet I didn't find the lenght a problem at all. It took me a long time to beat it, and I enjoyed just about every minute of it. I don't regret paying full price at all.

7 hours is actually too long for ZOE 2. I got bored to death on some of the cinemas. I think it would have been better if it was an hour or 2 with extreme difficulty. Or atleast make it extremely varied like most shooters that last less than an hour. SOR 2, Metal Slug, or Gunstar Heores length would be good.
ZOE2 is a pretty cool game but it's not that much better than part 1 IMO. Worth playing for sure but not worth buying IMO. I don't feel like replaying it at all.
I think people say ZOE 2 is hazy because it uses reall dull bluish/grey colors and they seem to blur it a bit. I love the look cause it matches the fancy particle effects and explosions. If you take a close look though, it really isn't that detailed or anything. That's what I think SGGG meant about the graphics.

No way dude its 10x better than the first. Leo is actually a pretty cool cat in the one, Dingo(while pretty stiff in character) is way more likeable than Leo was in the first, the combat(the best parts of 1) is improved with better weapons, music is better, graphics kick the first one's ass, difficulty is harder and while it makes the game feel longer, it isn't overly so.ZOE2 is a pretty cool game but it's not that much better than part 1 IMO. EX missions are good for replay too.
I haven't played ZOE 1 in awhile, so maybe ZOE 2 is a lot better. Still, I don't think ZOE 2 is that much better for it's time. Should be more like a shooter than a Psychic force beatemup.
I think action games should stick to the finish in one sitting mentality. That way you cram all the things that happen in two or three levels into one. The game would probably be a lot more exciting this way.
I know you can skip the cinemas but the first time through I didn't like them, but I couldn't help watching them to learn the story.
ZOE 2 is now $30 at both EB and KBToys. Fencesitters, now you know.
...alternatively you could read my excellent review over at NTSC-uk.Originally Posted by Crafter

Its an ok review, I disagree with your points on the fluidity of the combat and I'd rate it 9/10 but thats just me.
A little Zombie action on this thread...
Picked this up from the great Circuit City clearance for 7.50, just got around to trying it out since I have a huge pile o shame. I enjoyed the first ZOE even though it was a little monotonous. So I pop it in on Friday night, get to the first boss type and get my ass handed to me on normal. I said F-this, and dropped in a DVD instead.
Saturday I woke up and decided to give it one more chance, I passed the first stage barely and from there I was hooked. The story picked up, it had excellent visuals and great game progression. I was very pleased that they ditched the "Go Fetch" aspect. A nice variety of powerups available and more than 2 enemy models was a pleasent suprise. Played all the way through in one run for 7 hrs. I especially enjoyed the variety in mission types, instead of playing the same situation over and over again. I wanted to go unlock all of theextras, but I have so many more games begging me to give them a chance. I would definitely rate this in one of my top 10 of 2003
