Thread: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (Lets just call this official)

  1. I heard the menus are a pain in the ass. Are they?

Dolemite, the Bad-Ass King of all Pimps and Hustlers
Gymkata: I mean look at da lil playah woblin his way into our hearts in the sig awwwwwww

  2. I like how they work the name "Final Fantasy" into this game

I prefer the original but this is fun, the menus could be easier but I just started and haven't gotten used to them so it's not a big deal... only played a few engagments so far

The biggest thing lost is the ability to rotate the playing field like in the Playstation version so you can get a better view, most likely because its not 3D

  3. They've taken into account the stage design a lot more now, so it's not as neccesary to rotate the field like it was in FFT.

And as a veteran of the original, I'm not having much of a problem with the menu system.

True, so you probably won't be seeing those high castle walls or cliffs like in Final Fantasy Tactics

    I still miss it though

  5. Yea, the visuals and sound were quite a bit more 'bangin' in the psone game, but hopefully as I get further in I'll like the gameplay more in advance.

Some of the potrait art is really nice too. Gladiators for example are pimpjuice.

  6. My favorite part of the game is the first english screens of Fire Emblem in the little preview booklet.

I do like the game, misgivings about the law system aside.

I agree, and Rosanne Barr looks 'pretty much' and 'looks really well compared' to Laetita Casta.

They'd have to draw two different versions of each background tile to allow you to look at the arena from the 4 corners. I really don't know why they don't have the rotatable environments in the 2D games since I can't imagine it being hard to implement.

probably because it's not intuitive. it's much easier to grasp multiple camera angles when the transition is shown. also, you have to take the gba's limited cartridge space into account. all those extra tiles have to go somewhere..

  10. So far most of the fights are uphill battles.

Still that's not a huge prob. I'll be picking up the localized version Friday I hope.

Nemo: how are you feeling about the score?
