There is going to be a MegaMan Battle Network cartoon.

Sorry if this is old news, but this is the first I've heard of it:

Kids' WB is teaming up again with the producer of longtime ratings hit Pokemon to bring Japanese cartoon MegaMan: NT Warrior to American living rooms.

The show follows ten year old Lan and his superhero alter ego, Mega Man. The story is set in the not-so-distant future, where everything is connected to a central computer system and threatening hackers loom. Kids' WB will add MegaMan to its schedule this summer.

"It's part Matrix, part Pokemon," said Kids' WB programming executive John Hardman. "We do consider this a high marquee property and expect it will hit just as strongly in the U.S."

In Japan, ShoPro Entertainment's fifteen-year-old property has inspired video games, trading cards and a successful comic book series with monthly sales of 1.5 million copies. The TV show premiered last March on TV Tokyo.

The year is 200X. In the network age, everyone now possesses a portable terminal, within which they insert a "Net Navigator" program. When hacking and other crimes utilizing computer viruses become rampant, people begin loading "Battle Chip" programs into their Net Navigators, which can then battle to remove the viruses.

Lan Hikari's Net Navigator, custom-built by his father, is called . . . Mega Man. Mega Man has unknown powers, and Lan has natural virus-busting abilities. The two will solidify their friendship and expose the darkness hidden in the network . . .

I can't help but think of Rez when I read this.

Yeah I saw this a few months ago. It really has the look down pat, I hope it's not really bad or anything. Anyways, looking forward to it since I loved MMBN.

Rent Pink Floyds The Wall, Blast some Techno, Drop some Acid, mess with the vertical hold on your TV, bust out a vibrator or an electric toothbush, and shine a laser pointer off your TV screen back into your eye. Should be about the same.

cool.. so their bringing over rockman exe... cool.. i dont know where they get the martrix part.. cause its nothing like that.. but does seem like pokemon...

MMBN and the Matrix are alike in one way: They both get way more praise than they deserve...
