Thread: Van Helsing

  1. Van Helsing

This looks interesting. Who is this Van Helsing guy, though?

  2. Van Helsing is the Vampire hunter (as portrayed by Anthony Hopkins in Bram Stoker's Dracula) who made that particular profession famous.

Incedentally, since they make no mention of it ever in the series, The Helsing organization is named for him, and Ser Integra is his grand-daughter.

P.S. That movie looks amazing. I'm there.

  3. Okay. The series you're talking about, is that the anime? While those images look cool, they're just concept art. They might not ending up looking just like that. Also, Steven Sommers is directing (Those Mummy movies), so lets hope this won't be summer movie shlock.

    Righty-O!

Eh, I think I'll keep my hopes high, thank you very much.
Besides, I'll go see it anyway. Any movie about Helsing is worth seeing...even if they screw it up.

  5. I'm very excited about Van Helsing. I like Stephen Sommers films: Deep Rising was great action horror film, and I also enjoyed both Mummies, with their mix of action and adventure on grand scale.

I like Hugh Jackson, and I hope he will be as good, as he is in Xmen films.

Those images look very cool, and I love the VH look on that pic

  6. Is it just me or does he look a lot like D? ... I think I'll go watch that.

I agree, this movie looks like it should be really dark and not like... well the Mummy.

*edit: They also should have put "Frankenstein's Monster" on the poster, since Frankenstein is a person.

That wouldn't make much of a movie.
Van Helsing: "Are you Dr. Frankenstein?"
    Frankenstein: "Yes."
Van Helsing: *TTHHINCK* (Note: That's a crossbow noise... I guess)
    *The End*

I would have used *SPROING!* *THOK!* *SPLURCH!*

    It's pronounced Fronkensteen!

This movie is shaping up very well. Looking forward to it.

  9. More info on Van Hellsing:

Van Helsing: Now that the great Patrick Sauriol is over at Cinescape, the scoops are coming in strong over there including details of the special "Van Helsing" presentation Director Stephen Sommers gave where he revealed new information. Sommers wants Hugh Jackman's look in the film to be "absolutely iconic", and you can expect Van Helsing to be armed to the teeth with various weapons including "multipurpose powersaw blades/guns". The film starts with a storming of Castle Frankenstein where the monster "looks a lot more like a slightly biomechanical version of the DeNiro FRANKENSTEIN", and by the 2/3 mark reaches the door of Dracula's home where the count becomes a "Batman Man-Bat/Harpy looking creature" whilst the Wolf Man will literally shed his skin. Thanks to 'FanHalen'.

  10. Excellent, Despair! I encourage you to update us with whatever you can find!
