Thread: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

  1. The moment I talked to that little kid with the runny nose, I knew I was in for something special.

  2. I'm not sure why, but i was expecting the game to play exactly like Ocarina of Time. Luckilly, I was mistaken. I'm very pleased after about 4 hours of play. The light and funny atmosphere of the series has definitely returned. I've laughed out loud a couple times even. THIS is why I love this hobby.

I got the game today, and put about five hours into it.
You know, I wanted to like this game, and I think at some points I did, a little... but I think I have gotten too old, and too jaded to enjoy this type of game anymore.

I just don't want an epic quest anymore. I want to play Ikaruga, or Street Fighter or something.

Its really upsetting that this genre is dead to me. Feels like a part of my childhood just died.
Oh well, at least Amplitude comes out tomorrow.

  4. I second that. Maybe someday down the line I'll check it out (if I ever buy a GC again), but I never finished OoT because of the game style, and I even grew tired of Metroid Prime despite it being an obviously great game. I'm much more interested in the new fighters or the WC3 expansion.

    Guess your tastes change.

Let me guess... you're "old" too?

  6. Snag the pig!
    I got the pig!
    *tosses pig into the water*
    *retrieves the pig*
    I got the pig!
    *tosses pig into the water*

That is NEVER going to get old.

These graphics are beyond amazing. I've only played the first 15 minutes (starting the game over with the girlfriend tomorrow) but that water is so cool.

This is going to be a masterpiece, I can feel it.

  7. I just got it... very beautiful... good gameplay... nice dungeons and towns... fn minigames... wonderful in every way imaginable...

  8. The whole game has this whole Adobe Illustrator, vector graphics, look to it, which I'm really digging.

I spent a good two hours just tooling around Windfall Island. To all those who have made it thus far, have you gotten Tingle's balloon thing to work? I must have spent 100 rupees on that bastard, yet he did nothing.

  9. has anyone managed to get 25 letters sorted in 30 seconds??

it's tough sometimes.. i think i've only done it twice..

otherwise, the game is brilliant.. i'm glad i finally have a zelda i can play without throwing up everywhere.
MK2 on XBLA plz - let the unfolding of gameplay begin!!

  10. The dungeon and puzzle design is freaking amazing. I'm only on the second dungeon and it freaking rules. I love the way it looks. This boss is amazing.
