Thread: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

  1. I just found something pretty cute, if you toss a bomb onto the top of Beedle's boat shop, a huge plume of black smoke will billow of from within.

  2. How much longer is the game after I get the master sword in Hyrule? I just want to know because I'd rather do all the sidequests and extra's before I go to rescue Link's sister from the forsaken fortress. Basically my question is, that's not the end of the game is it?

you have 2 more big dungeons and then the final dungeon after you save your sister, i did some side stuff before saving her, but then went and saved her and did more side stuff, theres i guess 5 or 6 dungeons total in the game so a little less than the past ones

thats probably my only minor complaint about the game that the main quest is a little shorter this time and much more time spent on the side stuff

i would have liked another 1 or 2 dungeons

  4. Yeah, but the time it takes to finish EVERYTHING should take at least another 10+ hours, more without a guide or anything. I have always liked how it's a completely different game when you are in the dungeons. With the sailing it really adds a completely different element of gameplay. So far the dungeons seem to be a little to easy and short, I wish they had made them longer. The Water Temple in OoT was very challenging and took awhile to complete, and the bosses in OoT were more difficult. It also looks like there are only 6 songs to learn according to the menu screen. more songs would have been nice, with more notes. It was cool learning how to play the Simpsons theme song on the Ocarina.

  5. Ohh im sure it will take that long to do everything

i just would have liked for that time to have been during the main quest is all

i have a shit load of heart containers to find still (not that i ever go for all of them *shrug* but i would like to get most of them)

  6. Koyaanisqatsi: You also have to assemble the Triforce before entering the final dungeon, which is a good four hours at least, but you shouldn't worry about that until you take care of the two big dungeons.

  9. I think the game feels easier for this reason:

If you've ever been around the block with a Zelda game, you'll know a lot of enemy patterns. On the bright side, they ditched the Navi/helper gimmick, meaning you can't just be told how to fight a foe - you have to figure it out. Then again, when enemy (and boss) patterns are those you've seen and fought against before, it's an easy effort to finish without 'help'

The exploration parts are wicked though. Without a guide, and just combing the oceans, you'll still have to go back and forth, revisting islands to do things you couldn't before because you were missing bombs or something. I reminds me of how fun it was to find things in the first Zelda...you know, trying to burn up every tree on screen to see if there was a staircase. Just roaming and finding stuff in Wind Waker is much fun.

I think if this was someone's first Zelda game ever, it'd even be more impressive. They wouldn't have the knowledge of previous games, and so boss fights would be more challenging. Same with the dungeons.

Though you have to admit, new to the series or Zelda pro, some fights (like in Hyrule castle or the deep dungeon to find a Triforce Chart) are over-the-top fun and pretty challenging.

Might not want to repost my mistake.

Besides, it was barely a spoiler anyway.
