Didn't they tell you how as soon as you left Windfall? Doesn't a fish stop you and talk to you? Did you skip right through the text? If you did, I wouldn't advise you to do so again throughout the duration of the game.

Throw some bait (the red kind) in the water wherever you see a fish jumping. He will draw the square on the map and you will get some information about the area.

When you're crusing around and see a fish jumping out of the water (it's pretty noticeable) stop near him and throw some bait (buy it at one of the shop ships). He'll stop and fill in your map. Keep doing it for each section of the map.

on a similar note, it is such a pain in the ass to hunt dwn all those fish... not hard, but it takes for fucking ever...

i did it on a sunday that iw as off work, its kind fo fun, like making the map for morrowind, one note, try to have your lock on arrow on the fish, or he wont nibble, if he is locked he will swim in to take the bait.

You don't need to L-target the fish. If you're sailing around using the auto camera, when you come across a fish, the camera will pan out. Once that occurrs, all you have to do is stop and throw the bait.

I spent like two hours the other day just completing my map. Cuz it had to be done...

didn't bother reading the thread. so i don't know how you guys feel about the game, but i was personally disapointed. graphics style was fine and all, didn't have a problem with that.

game just felt like a chore to me, and i simply wasn't having any fun while playing it. worse game in the series if you ask me (side stories not included).

this game was clearly lacking Miyamoto. i wish he would work on his series again. making me worry a bit about Mario Kart now.
