It is very interesting, however, to see that Nintendo's pack-in ratio is quickly catching up to Microsoft's. I predict that when all is said and done, Nintendo's pack-in ratio will be the best of the two.
Don't forget, these are the just the january numbers, and as is always brought up, don't include Walmart. Nintendo and Microsoft both claim to have sold 1.5 million units over christmas. So, it's probably not as bad as it seems. The total dissappearance of Metroid is a concern for them, though, especially since Splinter Cell is still going strong. Maybe Nintendo should change "Space Pirates" to "Space Terrorists", and have Samus be an elite member of the United Space of America's special forces. It certainly couldn't hurt.

Hence the GBA-> GC Adaptor. I'm quite sure Nintendo's hard at work trying to come up with any concievable angle to get GBA owners to buy a Cube.

Poekmon is no longer the powerhouse it was in the states 3-4 years ago. It'll sell like hotcakes but not like it used to.

After that, Nintendo had better get it's ass in gear and get some new titles out. Sunshine and Metroid didn't sell a gazillion copies like anticipated (only 1/2 a gazillion ) and they need some big titles.

If E3 doesn't impress, I shudder to think of next Christmas for them...

/me is surprised SOCOM has been on the top 10 list for 6 consecutive months now. Well deserved, IMO.

  5. One system is clearly beating the living fuck out of the other two.

Walmart (and any other stores left out) are factored into those figures.

Nintendo really got rocked this month, but then again, what do you expect when your biggest release on the system is The Two Towers Nintendo really needs to fix their scheduling, because this is one of the many reasons they're getting killed in the slower months.
If my memory of her has an expiration date, let it be 10,000 years.

  7. There's an over abundance of tongue smilies in this thread... odd.

And Orta, did amazingly well for itself, getting in at 14 on the top 25 is not too shabby. Hopefully sales remain decent for the duration and it convinces Smilebit to do a sequel to Saga
    omg TNL epics!

I dunno...those GB pokemon were on the sales charts for most of last year. I'm not sure it's quite done yet.

Heh, didn't Miyamoto say he wanted to do another Zelda and Mario? I wonder how long that guy can go without sleep...

I stand corrected. So only TRST leaves Walmart out? What a useless chart that is then...
