Try the sociology journals at your college library. That's where all the respected research is first published, anyway.
That's an interesting topic, btw.. I'd be interested in learning what you find out.
i'm thinking about doing one of my college papers on the timeline of the maturity, or the act of maturing in human life. Does anyone have any sorces to find statistics on the average time of marriage, when people go from wanting a fun relationship, to wanting a real relationship, when people get serious about life, and other changes in peoples outlook on life as they age?
There has to be a study on this somewhere, as we've all seen the shows about people maturing on TLC and other learning channles.

Sorry, I can't offer any real links but I, also, would be interested to see what you find out.
bastard of the new world order.
About all I found in a google search was something like the average japanese person gets married between the ages of 25 and 27.
Do you think the sociology journals would have stastics on the point that humans go from being self centered to trying to be a part of society? When a person becomes aware of the oppasite sex, wants to be with them, wants to have fun (and only fun) with them, and then matures to a point where they decide they want to live out the rest of their life with them? Would they have the averages and statics of how the human mind matures and the change of its understanding of the world? Have these things really been studied?
Somehow I don't think this is the place to inquire...

You never know where you might find things.
Google is your friend, IP![]()
Come to think of it, I had a human growth and development class that discussed these things too, so journals of that sort may be of use. It was an education class, not a sociology class.. sadly, my textbook has long since been sold back to the off-campus bookstore.Originally posted by IronPlant

The trouble will be tracking down this stuff.. if it exists, it's likely a bit buried. If your school has a computerized search index, that would probably be the best place to start as far as the journals go.
Wish I could be of better help. I'm an English major, and unfortunately we don't know much besides some grammar and how to write poems that make pretty girls swoon.![]()
