I am so hoping my friend falls for this. He's not very bright to begin with, and this is his first year of “subscribing” to EGM (he gets it free since he works at a library and they get two copies each month) so he won’t know about the yearly April fools joke, and he’s also a pretty casual gamer so he probably won’t realize that it’s an April issue in the first place, nor will he have read through anything like this thread letting him know it’s a fake.
He also owns DOAX. I can’t wait to hear how he’s been spending hours choosing and exiting over and over trying to spend less than 13 minutes doing so.
Electric bug
Because of the "Streeets of Rage" joke, I almost thought the "2 games enter, 1 game leave" on the front cover was the joke. No, it's just an embarassing grammatical error.
Then I combed the magazine a bit closer than normal as I went through page by page, keeping my eyes open. Paid extra attention to the coming soon page, the works. So what do I get but an obvious April Fools joke as subtle as a slap with a trout. D'oh!
I thought it pretty funny, actually.
