Justin Wong sucks at Third Strike. He ownz the world at MvC2, though.![]()
So you're complaining about Third Strike because you can build meter by performing moves that don't hit?
What's so terrible about that? In order to LAND the super move you've built up you have to actually HIT you oppontent with it which involves attacking. So winning a match still comes down to attacking and LANDING the super. The super meters are going to build up no matter what you do, attack, whiff or parry so it comes down to the same thing in the end - Trying to soften up the opponent, finding the opening and hitting them with a super. So what if the build-up is different.
I think that's why they left that feature in Third Strike; to allow the super meter to be built up no matter what you do, even if it's performing moves away from your opponent. That way you should have at least one super before the match is over.
I am sure he's more than a match for you though...Originally posted by Captain Vegetable

If you mean the charging, it would have created the exact same scenario. It's just a different way of doing the same thing.
well sort of right? i mean one is at least gained through offensive techniques which dont leave you as vulnerable to attack as lets say, standing there and posing. Albeit the "attacking version" one has the downtime for the animation to worry about. Still, not the exact same scenario. actually, it depends on your perspective, i suppose.
if we are referring to just standing there and powering up to gain super yes, its a similar scenario, but during gameplay (meaning when people are attacking each other) its quite different.
But what FuryFox was refering to was the match in which both players relied on Supers, hence they both leaped back and it was a race to who could charge first. In that instance nothing would have changed.Originally posted by amitavc

Overall, yes, it would change things. But if we're to refer to all matches that aren't like that, then I would much prefer the KOF charge wasn't in there. I never liked that system.
Meh, I could destroy them all. Except for Mester, he is the king.
Freedom is a road seldom travelled by the multitude...
Wow, that is incredible... Now I MUST buy that Japanese copy of Third Strike I found...
I've found quite a few videos too. I dunno if anyone's interested in hosting them or anything, but you guys have to see some of this insanity...
Like someone playing Tetris insanely fast for a good ten minutes... or the huge video of infinite combos in KoF 2001...
Insanity.
I'll host what I can. I have access to a corporate FTP.Originally posted by ChaoofNee

Woah...
Wish I did.
Is it that easy to link to them from that?
I'd think it'd be cool if the KoF video got put up somewhere, but I bet I'll be pelted with multiple accounts of "this is teh old!!!!11" Then again, maybe not.
It's a video filled with infinites from KoF2001, if anyone's interested.
I've never seen KOF videos of anything. Please put them up. Educate my SF ass.
