    The Official Kevin Smith Thread

Since there's a movie forum with no damn KS thread(Blasphemy), I decided to make one. First thing to discuss: Which is your favorite KS movie, and why? Don't just list, explain as well. I'll post mine once enough people respond. Snoogens.

  2. 1. Mallrats - Jason Lee, one-liners, all-star cast, comic books, Stan Lee, chicks, and Alyssa's boobs. I like stupid movies, especially the ones that came out during the mid 90s

I was a mallrat once...good times man, good times.

    2. Chasing Amy - well, thought out dialogue.
    3. Clerks - I use to be a clerk, and it sucked ass, so I can relate.

  3. I think Chasing Amy is probably the best Kevin smith movie from a critical point of view (some really great dialogue, highlighted by little things like failed jokes and such), but my favorite to watch is Mallrats. Its as funny as Clerks, but is well paced. Brody is my hero.

  4. JSBSB- I just love this movie. Some fantasic lines and a last sign off for some of my favorite characters.

Clerks- Where it all started. I appreciate what he did and with what he had to make this movie. Lots of swearing and some truly funny moments

Mallrats- It's just a chuckle fest. A real cult movie a think. Havn't seen it in awhile.

  5. Mallrats most definately. Brodie is the only good character I've ever seen Jason Lee play. He's also a great Randal counterpart being distantly related and all. Clerks would be my second favorite, because of Walt's many forgetable roles. Then the animated series would be third, Alec Baldwin's Leonardo Leonardo is hilarious as is all the Patrick Swazie bashing. Dogma had a few good lines in it, but Chasing Amy was a boring festival of Kevin's new liberal love story nonsence. JASBSB was a running injoke that would've been better off in the animated series, or being left in the comics he'd already done.

  6. Kevin Smith = overrated.

  7. and talkative. He ran out of room for commentary on his dvds so he released an evening with Kevin Smith. I prefer him as Silent Bob.

  8. Mallrats. Brody is one of my favorite characters ever.

Then Dogma, then Clerks. I've never seen Chasing Amy, and JSBSB is good, but not in the same way his other movies are.
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

  9. Clerks is the best KS film out there, with Mallrats following close behind. The only thing Clerks was missing was Jason Lee. I hated Chasing Amy just because thats not the type of movie I'd like to see coming from KS.
