Thread: My supergun

  1. http://www.sgrepository.com/index.php

Matt - Your work is now featured here.

The site looks to have been started recently... Pretty cool idea, but the banner moto has to go.

  2. How sturdy are super guns? I don't want something that could have a cable pop off or something. Are they jusy pop-and-play like consoles or is there any semi-complex connecting involved?

Matt: If you ever decide to build and sell them again, count me as your first customer (if they're sturdy little contraptions).

  3. Superguns are as sturdy as ya build em, mine is uglier than hell but could probably get shot with a pellet rifle 100 times and still run great. Generally there are no delicate ICs to fry or low power components to explode, superguns are made for use with arcade boards which by nature of their enviroment are very robust. Lets just say there are fewer complex components to fuck up than in any of your game systems. A good Supergun probably has the lifespan of a good light switch.

  4. Really? Great!

I can imagine playing all those cool arcade games on my TV. That would be so fucking cool.

  5. What kinda TV you got? tru RGB is where it at! Even an Apple IIGS RGB monitor looks better than any TV with composite or S-Video in my opinion.

oh god i'm sounding like JapJAC

  6. I have a 27' WEGA with component & s-video inputs. I'd be happy with that for the moment.

Where do you get the game boards from? Ebay? What stores sell them?

  7. 27 feet, eh? Impressive.

You really do need an RGB display, though. Apart from being drop-dead gorgeous, you're likely to run into display issues otherwise.

  8. Apple IIGS monitors are really cheap. You could probably get one for under $20. Perfect for RGB.

  9. PCBs NEED RGB! you can play it in composite, but I would rather stab my eyeball with a twig. You would be doing the PCB a great disservice by playing it in composite or S-Video, I am pretty sure the reason why the CPS suicide batteries go off is because people play them in composite on their MAS supernovas...

I'd get myself one of those cheap monitors as soon as I got a super gun. Heck, I'd even buy a new monitor for that.
