Thread: Do you like the new Capcom, or the old Capcom more?

  1. #21
    It's the Commodore 64 version.

Don't worry, the arcade version still looks great.

And the Atari ST one doesn't look bad.

  2. The Atari version looks pretty good.

Man, I love this game. I need a decent pad to play it on MAME.

  3. capcom is just "maturing" its trying to appeal to the "older" gamer which seems to be the key demographic every magazine, media person, news program, and most posters on message boards say matter the most

I still like the games capcom is bringing out the first DMC was great, VJ and PN 03 look great but id really love to see a 2d fighter from them

i dont know no one i taking chances any more specially not capcom (allthough they did a big one with steel battalion)

I can understand why they arent though i mean the cost to make a game is deffinetly a shit load more now than it was 5 - 10 years ago

and games arent selling a proportional amount of copies (IE if a game needed 75,000 copies sold to make a profit, now it would say need 750,000) its understandable no one wants to lose money on something

Its like people keep asking why Konami keeps making the GBA Vania's cause the GBA is cheap to make games for, probably a small fraction of what a console dev would cost, and they sell just as much (i know the first one sold over 500,000 copies)

everyone is just trying to keep their neck above water

  4. Capcom did more than just Mega Man and such in the NES days, they also did LEGENDARY WINGS, which is my favorite shooter. They also cranked out some awesome 16-bit games besided Street Fighters and Final Fights like Captain Commando (which I love to death.)

    lupin III fan

  5. I'd trade every single of Capcom's 3D games for a new Vampire / Darkstalkers game. 2D or 3D, just give me more of Felicia, Bulleta, Morrigan, Lilith... I suppose I should mention a guy too so for Werewolf more Jon Taliban as well.

  7. Old.

  8. I think I liked Final Fight era through Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike best. A decades worth of games--let's not forget D & D 1 + 2, Captain Commando, Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, etc.

  9. Old. I like alot of their new stuff, but the old Capcom just seemed to make magic almost all of the time. From original creations to licensed games to arcade ports, they did it all. They still do most of that, but it just seems like some of the magic is gone.

  10. Breath of Fire V, Onimusha Tactics, Viewtiful Joe, Mega Man Zero 2, and Mega Man Battle Network 3 all look pretty tasty to me.
