some states require a permit for work I belive, but the way things go in this day and age, just exactly how are you capable of supporting your hobby when your parents only have so much (or little) to give?
Ever since I became a freshman I've noticed that uh... relying on saving lunch money to buy stuff is kinda lame.
I want to get a part time job. I know most places won't hire 'til 16 or 18 or whatever so I'm asking you guys what you did for money when you werea freshman in high school. I really don't know where to start.
Oh and I the only experience I've ever had with work before is the last 3 summers where I've volunteered as a summer school aide. I have like 300 volunteer hours.

don't wanna tangle with you, I'd rather tangle with him.
I think I'm gonna bash his head in...
Get your working papers, and go to various restaurants seeking to be a busboy.![]()
your 14... well then your fucked.. no job for you...
Have you tried getting a paper route? I had a few friends make money that way. When I was a freshman I worked at my father's store cleaning shelves and mowing the front lawn. The job sucked though and I made less than minimum wage.
i asked everyone i knew that owned a house if they needed help with things they needed to get done around their house. not only did i usually make a pretty decent amount of money, i learned basic things about fixing your own home, which is crucial if you ever plan on owning a home unless you are rich or know people that are willing to give you deals. i've worked two summers for contractors, and they charge a shitload of money. painters, especially.
you're only 14?! fucking hell man - screw work - enjoy this period of your life, I'd love to be 14 again - stay home and play vid games and drink copious amounts of caffienated products and act stupid and silly whilst having a great time. Don't pull the adult world to you - its coming soon enough.
Dude push drugs for a few months, big money in the drug trade. You can make like $300 a day if you're in the right neighborhood and choose to push the right narcotic.
How much money you need? Go cut some grass.
