    Heavy Unit

Anyone have any info? The site I got these pics from is in Italian (I think).

I have played most of them.

The Chaos Engine is pretty good. It's an Amiga port and it came out domestically as Soldiers of Fortune.

Pulseman is good although not Sonic-quality.

Twinkle Tale is great if you like Pocky and Rocky-type games.

Heavy Unit, from what I remember = just another 16-bit shooter.

  3. Soldiers of Fortune is long and real slow, but pretty fun with two players.

  4. Soldiers of Fortune? Hmm. I can get that pretty cheap and would like to try it out.

  5. Snow Bros is quite fun though not arcade perfect. It sells for some steep prices though... *-neo

  6. Pusleman is very good, but the level design is a bit weak.
Twinkle Tale is excellent, and you'll probably like it better the Pocky and Rocky.
Snow bros is good if you like single screen plattformers like Bubble Bobble.

  7. Chaos Engine wasn't anything really special. If you can get it cheap, go for it, as you'll probably have a decent amount of fun with it.

Pulseman is held back by its weak level design. The abilities he has are varied, and some attempts were made to use them in creative ways, but they didn't capitalize on that. I'd go for it.

Twinkle Tale is very reminiscent of Elemental Master and Phelios to me, so if you liked those two, you'll like this one.

The other two I never played.

  8. Twinkle Tale is has really amazing graphics. There is an avalanche in the first level and I was like "wow, the Mega Drive can do THAT!" Excellent gameplay too.

Heavy Unit is quite boring. For shooter collectors only. Very little intrinsic game value IMO.

  9. i love pulseman. oozes style and is loads of fun. though i can't really argue against critics who don't think the level design is that great.. it's not. but if you like a game for whole package reasons you'll enjoy it.

i played twinkle tale last week for maybe 5-10 minutes. seemed decent but i dunno. people seem to be recommending it. it seemed pretty hard, actually, even though you have a life bar.

  10. I really dig Soldiers of Fortune / Chaos Engine, definitely pick it up.
