Heh, since I had Samsho 2, Fatal Fury, KoF R2 and MotM, I figured I had the fighting angle covered on NGPC and passed on Gal Fighters.

It's almost completely unlike them. The gameplay is very tweaked it's chock full of great humor. The fact that Kyo's girlfriend has a special attack which is just her shouting NO! and also one where she frantically waves her bookbag at her opponent is worth playing. Or Akari getting spit out by Chang.
I like it better than MotM myself. Storylines give it the edge. It's not a bilingual cart so make sure to get the English version.

Alas, I gave my NGPC to my kid sisters a year or so back. They derive more enjoyment from it than I would these days, having played everything to death.
