Thread: SNK vs Capcom Ofcl.Thread (Udt.10/02/03) AES re-delayed until November 13th.

  1. At my local arcade I see a lot of people use Zero, but so far I'm the only one who tried Goenitz...I guess he's really cheap("koko desu ka?") so people don't like him.

I have not seen anyone use Red Arremer or Athena yet. Has codes for them been released yet?
Right, because if anything validates the existance of a handheld piece of shit, it's taking those shitty handheld games and placing them on a screen big enough so that the inherent flaws of the software is visible to all humans. Including Ray Charles.

Or Akari getting spit out by Chang.

I like it better than MotM myself. Storylines give it the edge. It's not a bilingual cart so make sure to get the English version.
Gals Fighter is a great game, and I agree that it does enough differently to set itself appart from all the other NGPC fighters.

Okay, first of all...the game looks really nice.i am just hard with anticipation.second...WTF,Zero,Firebrand,MARS PEOPLE?!...GOD DAMNIT!!...they can find time to put these people in but.....but...oh never friggin mind.and third....when is it hittin the home system...if Xbox has Live play...i think i may have to get that...that would be really scrumptious.
also...is Geese' raging storm still hard as hell to perform or did they do the right thing and just make it a power guyser or super hadoken motion.

And what does Zero look like as a chick??

I don't know, but no way that's the right thing. Some things are sacred, and Geese's supers being mega-tough is one of them. The raging storm especially, as long as they keep it full damage against jump-ins.

  5. I see people pulling off Raging Storms quite regularly, and it's much bigger now and has a huge area of effect. It's one of the best supers in the game I think.

Anyway I just spent about $10 and finally beat the game on 1 player. Beat an extremely cheap Blood Iori then an even cheaper super Mr.Karate who can shoot three haohshokokens at a time. Severely disappointed in the ending, it's just a static screen of a night sky with static text (couldn't they at least make the text scroll, sheesh..) It's even worse than CvS2's generic endings, and I didn't think that was possible.

  6. There are screeens of Kyo's ending somewhere earlier in this thread; I think you have to beat Athena/Arremer to get the real ending, much in the same way you have to beat Shin Akuma or God Rugal to get proper endings in CvS2.

  7. Anyways, I think the bottom line is that while SvC is good enough to satisfy most of the hardcore fighting fans, I'm really disappointed that they didn't do more to make the game appeal more to non-fans. The awful backgrounds, menus, endings, etc just make me feel like SNK just did the absolute minimum they thought was necessary to please the hardcore of the hardcore fans and that was it. What happened to the SNK of KOF 94-98 that went beyond the call of duty to make their games feel so "special"?

EDIT: Oh ok didn't see your post about the hidden endinds. But still I put almost $10 into the damn thing, I just felt I should have gotten more than a static screen with text. :P

They went out of business 3 times and ditched most of their staff.

They obviously want you to do so more than once.

  9. Thoughts of the day: Zero is so whack. Playable Orochi Iori is the dumbest shit ever.

Yeah... I, uh, I keep forgetting about the PS2 version.
