Question is about talent, not ability to churn out stuff fast.

Quantity affects part of quality. Or rather, it is an integral part of it. I may like Blizzard's games more, but the fact that Treyarch can consistently create games that, though not ground-breaking, are entertaining and pleasant at five times the rate of Blizzard make them better developers.

Yes and no. There are few games that last as long with a following of the size that Blizzard games get. They're almost always made with excellent precision that ensures long life (provided you're interested in the game to begin with, I don't expect any pure-action junkies to tweak out on Starcraft), which could be said makes the better game. On many levels there are FPS' that surpass Quake III in their way, but none reach that overall level of excellent balance, design, and execution that makes it the best FPS still worth playing today. Then there's the amount of people who still play Starcraft and Diablo II constantly which goes fairly unmatched by most anything aside from the Everquest/UO/similar crews.

Being able to create great products at a good rate is wonderful, but I'd prefer an excellent game at a fraction of the release speed.

  6. Konami, then Capcom

Yes, I do agree that Blizzard games are better, but the question is about developers, and (you won't agree, this is preference) Treyarch's method of high quantity, 3/4s quality is better. You start thinking like this once you become a Woody Allen fan.

  8. Microsoft is catching up, they are one or two major studios away from having the best in-house developers of a major publisher, but I still say the seperate studios at Sega have the most raw potential.

From that list though I would have to go with Konami.

    It's not that difficult.

Or just do both like me.
