I don't put much stock into the awards at all, but I still enjoy watching. Is it me or did in their attempt to downplay the ceremony in light of world events, they've just made everything look real tacky?
I know they have no relevancy whatsoever, and they're as stiff as a board, but cmon, I know some of you gotta be watching them.
Just wanted to post this up for people to talk about it.
As for me, I used to care about the winners and stuff (I made it a point to see all the nominees in 1999), but after the Academy picked Gladiator over CTHD (granted Gladiator is good, but CTHD does a lot of what Gladiator does, and way better), I stopped caring. Still...

I cant believe Michael Moore won... his film was entertaining, and somewhat insightful, but it wasnt very... documentating.
What a bitch Michael Moore was just now. They should've used one of those 20 foot canes to drag him off the stage.
The show is REALLY BAD this year. Just corny. I think you're right Sqoon - the lack of flash really has turned the show into a cheesefest. The last time I watched it, two years ago, it was fairly good and entertaining. Aside from a couple of good jokes from Martin (the Connery one was good), its really bad.
And evidently no one else seems to give a fuck! haha.
I sure don't.
Regardless of what you may think of Moore, you have to admit that part's going to be the highlight (or lowlight) of this year's show.
Poor guy's going to be the butt of late night jokes now...

Death never looked so good.
I thought Adrien Brody's speech will be the famous acceptance speech for this year. I'm glad Moore got booed, but he still had a right to say it, even though he was a bloated asshole.
The worst part of the show was probably when they had those 59 past recipients honored....again.
I'm really glad Spirited Away won best animated feature, that was awesome. Peter O'Toole getting an award was great as well.
