Hey guys, I now own the elusive Pro Gear and I love it.
One question: How can I get into the option menu to make sure the difficulty is on default.

Hell, I figure there aint no way I can't get into the top-5. At least until more people get the game.

Click, where is the 1-up?

Bebop - Hit the 'Test' button the side of the board... You can't miss it. Do you have the US, ASN, or the JPN version of the game? If you need a menu translation, I'll give you one so you can locate the game configuration options.

Secret 1-UP: it's in 1-4, about halfway through. After the 'mid-boss' tank that comes in from the right-hand side on the rail track, there are two additional [and smaller] tanks that roll in from the top of the screen. [They shoot those multiple lines of bullets.] Wait for the second one to appear above the first, and kill it. Then destroy the second [bottom] tank and the 1-UP will pop out.

I hope that is clear.

Also, I'll hold out on posting your score until you make sure your settings are correct.

And Ketsui... who knows. It's still pretty pricey considering how long ago it came out. Maybe in another 6 months or so.

I have the Japanese version.

Ok, to access the game options:

1.) On the TEST MENU, select choice - #7 CONFIGURATION
2.) Under the CONFIG menu, select - #2 GAME
3.) Now under the GAME menu, you can screw with the difficulty settings.
4.) The US default is 2* out of 8*, and the extend should say "1ST 3000000PTS NEXT 4000000PTS EVERY." The ship stock is 3, of course.

After you mess with those settings, select - #5 EXIT. It will take you back to the previous menu, where you must now select - #4 SAVE & EXIT.

Now you're good to go. I hope this is not too confusing.

To figure out the option menu, download the English manual from www.cps2shock.com. The menu options are the same in the US version as the Japanese one.
