Long ago, I used to use this chat software called The Palace. When a user doesn't have a paid account on The Palace, they are named 'Guest ***', where *** = any random numbers. I couldn't think of a name to use once I did register... A fellow chatter named Shadow©, who was a 'wizard' (could kill / ban / silence other users), bestowed the name rusty upon me, because my ISP at the time was rust.net.

rusty -> rust (and a million different variations thereof) -> ruhztee (more unique than rusty, and much more difficult to spell, apparently)

My name partially comes from Street Fighter. However, it is an actual nickname given to me because I did something stupid.

Once at my old dojo, I was bragging about how good my footwork was. I was also known to be a huge SF fan (this was in the days of Alpha 1).

I tripped, fell, and sprained my ankle while demonstrating a footwork technique.

Everyone laughed at me and asked me if that was my "zero-dash"

hence, the humiliating nickname that is my alias since the GG! days...
